Super Mariooooooooo SUNSHINE yoblazer33: I am giving Super Mario Sunshine my most sincere, my most heartfelt, my most guarantee, my most no BSing, no joking around, I am 100% serious guarantee. If you have been on this board for the last like three or four or five years you have no reason whatsoever not to go with Super Mario Sunshine. Even if you're wrong, even if you're wrong just imagine the possibility of you being right. Imagine all the chuckles, the laughs, the chortles, the guffaws. It'll be history and you'll be there on the right side of history. You guys saw how good it felt to be one of those people who picked Hayabusa earlier this year when he beat Master Chief. It just, Chief could not become any more legendary than that. Like that is finishing the fight. That Halo 3 is finishing the fight. This is Master Chief and Halo finishing the fight. Actually, now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever gotten a Master Chief match wrong. Let's see. Had Frog > MC in 2004 Had Crono > MC in 2005 Had Sub-Zero > MC in 2006 Had MC making it to the semis in 2007 2008...Gotta look at that one. I think I had MC losing to Dante and Kirby. I wish I was around these boards back during the earlier contests I followed. Snake having the early lead on Link in the '08 finals was definitely my favorite moment. It might be a futile endeavor, but maybe one day the brain trust around here can compile a list of the 100 greatest matches. Well, that's not something that I will be able to do. From: yoblazer33 | Posted: 7/3/2005 10:37:04 AM | Message Detail Here's my post from a few days ago explaining why I don't see Dante receiving a DMC3 boost and not defeating Vincent: The more I think about it, the more I see Dante not getting much of a boost from Devil May Cry 3. Poor sales and not much buzz. The only talk I heard was of its "insane difficulty." It had no more hype than Devil May Cry 2 and will be lucky to get half the sales. Of course, one argument against this would be Vergil's solid performance in the Spring Contest, to which I say, "what the hell?" I had no idea 64% against a guy NOBODY knows (with one of the worst picture mismatches in history, I might add) was all that impressive. If anything, Vergil's ability to keep Sephiroth from netting 79% is more impressive, and he did that with his, surprise surprise, Devil May Cry 1 picture. Dante getting a 1 seed seems to be more credible evidence to me, but let's really look at this for a second. Nominations were open for two days. The skeleton guy got in because of Shake. The King of all Cosmos (bless his soul) got in because of the crazy people on this board. Dante likely got his seeding because of the people currently playing (or who have just recently played) DMC3, but as we all know, strength in nominations does not equal strength in the contest, and with the extremely short nomination period we had this year, it's all the more reason to put little faith in them. I love Dante. He's cool, he's badass, and he's in a new game that has been warmly received. I know nothing about Vincent except that he's FFVII's resident "cool guy," and that's more than enough for me. FFVII is the one entity on this site that has failed to disappoint in the three years we've had contests (unless we count Mario/Cloud 2002), and if I'm going to doubt it, it has to give me reason to do so. At this point, the only thing worrying me about Vincent is HM's vehement support. Look at you, yoblazer. --- "The great GF...Bahamut." "...GF? I...? Using my powers...It is you humans...I fear..." |

Remember when we had a poll glitch with Xenogears vs. G/S/C where only registered users could vote? Everyone was saying that when the poll glitch was fixed, G/S/C would win once the general public was allowed to vote. Then the glitch was fixed, and Xenogears won by MORE. We had a few glitches in the Games Contest, actually. He'd post "favourite character of all time lists" with Link and Cloud as the top 2 and then next month they wouldn't even be top 15 or whatever, and Samus would be there instead. reason why Pokemon GSC/Xenogears is getting so few votes is because
they are both trying to lose so badly to avoid Final Fantasy VII. We had a few glitches in the Games Contest, actually. I remember KOTOR/Vice City ran for 48 hours, for some reason. Pokemon was winning. Not only that, Pokemon was winning by quite a bit. I
was worrying so much that Pokemon would end up losing again. It's great
that Pokemon actually has a lot of strength these days. I guess I'm

Chief's original 4 way debut was so great. I'm biased since I called MC
