Unexpectedly low prediction percentage today especially considering its a Zelda game that won. The prediction percentage starts pretty high in the top tiers. All the -2s and -3s got it right. Down to the -8s stay above 85. After that, the prediction percentage falls fairly quickly. By the -12 it falls below 70 and by the -15s it falls below 50. It wasn't that close of a match either. For comparison, 98.43% of the gurus supported Wind Waker. I really didn't expect this match to be one where we beat the casual bracketmakers by nearly 40 percentage points.

3 people fell off the Top 50. sycamore32, carolinafan92 and LeftU4Dead did not have Wind Waker beating God of War 2.

Not much of a second update rebound there. Pretty good for my Oracle, but bad for ACII. Assuming it doesn't skyrocket later, this is yet another bad looking result for 2009 games as well. I'm starting to even worry about Batman now; he's up against a devoted fanbase.

Today's pick: Creed II - 66.75% Status:

AC > AC2? Well I dunno...among professional reviewers, those who gave AC1 good scores gave AC2 about the same as they gave AC1, whereas those who had more mixed/negative opinions of AC1 gave the sequel much better review scores. Since GameFAQs seems to have cared about AC1 quite a bit (makes sense, I can understand where the hype would've been coming from, after all...IT'S PRINCE OF PERSIA + GRAND THEFT AUTO!!!), AC2 probably isn't much stronger than AC1 and could even be weaker. However AC1's performance against MGS4 was more out of MGS4's weakness I think.

That's why I went with a relatively low pick. 2009 games don't look great, but this makes Brawl's performance ever the more impressive. Has any other 2008+ game destroyed a decent opponent (F-Zero does not apply)?

A. MGS4 has dropped a good distance in 18 months.
B. AC is a good deal stronger than ACII.
C. ICO is actually decent.

Bottom Line: PS3 exclusives suck on this site, and MGS4 apparently isn't immune. Not that it should be.

So I guess that'll mean that God of War III will be by far the weakest GoW game?

Also I still have a feeling that Fallout 3 will start choking over in later rounds, and then lose to Half-Life 2 in the quarterfinals. God of War II's surprisingly bad performance yesterday makes me feel better about HL2's chances (let's face it, God of War is really the only thing standing between HL2 and quarters), so it all adds up. Also I still have a feeling that GSC is going to kick some booty later on, including defeating FFX.

I think it was just contest hype that made Fallout 3 look good. If FFX vs VJ was the first match of the contest, FFX might have broken 85%.

Could be a mix of A and C. Especially if influence voting is holding sway over this contest (which it very well could be on one hand, I mean GTAIII won big and Sands of Time overperformed, but WoW and The Sims didn't look so hot though).

Like I said, I think Fallout 3 will start disappointing in the next few rounds. Killing a 2009 PS3 exclusive that had more or less mixed reception doesn't say much, and it may even be negative since Fallout 3 was just over 81% even with New Vegas's then recent release.

Yes I know. I'm saying that God of War II having a lot of brackets may easily mean casual brackets think it's strong more than WW being weak, in which case they'd have God of War II over Oblivion also.

A combination of all 3 sounds right to me (shrugs)

We def dont give games like Ico their due credit. These games seem tailor-made to appeal to the GameFAQs community, whom have already shown their appreciation for relatively cult games.
