toss-up match, by its very definition, is a match where the lack of
information about one, or both, of the games in question leads to an
inconclusive matchup where either game could come out the victor,
dependent on different variables. SMS/Halo 3 falls under this
description, and just because you got the match right doesn't make it

By their very nature, 4-way matches significantly reduce anti-voting. Also, that poll is a SFF match from hell. it doesn't. By their very nature, 4-way matches significantly reduce
anti-voting. Also, that poll is a SFF match from hell. It's pretty
impossible to glean any real information from that match in a bubble. This isn't necessarily true. It depends on how "smart" the anti-voters are. For example, in a match like FFVII/OOT/LTTP/FFX, the FFVII anti-voters would not split their votes between the other 3 games- instead, if they're smart, they'll throw all their votes to OOT, which would actually amplify the anti-voting effect. --- Nominate Crono so he can get a higher seed and avoid being fed to Clinkeroth early in the contest. |

underestimate the intelligence of the Zelda/Nintendo/FFVII hate
fanbase. This is war, and they know when to fight and when to fall in
line. But with something like the match Halo was in, it probably
wouldn't happen that way, yeah. FFVII vs. OOT in the finals is
different, and more likely to have anti-voters think, and all reach the

It still reduces anti voting because you have more games in the poll. Not all anti-voters are going to be "smart" No, but generally anti-voters will be "smarter" than normal voters. I had UC2 to the division finals, albeit extremely hesitantly, simply because I thought it's competition would flop worse. Now I believe UC2 will flop harder than its competition. I never had any real faith in UC2 to begin with, and am not entirely sure why so many did have confidence in it. it doesn't apply to Halo nearly as much as FFVII, but if it were
something like OOT/WW/Halo/Link's Crossbow Training, don't be surprised
to see WW murder the early vote and resist SFF from OOT far far far

I doubt Paper Mario will threaten it or anything, but nonetheless, I'm expecting Wind Waker to totally paste it. UC2 will be lucky if it can get past SF4, let alone getting past Halo 1. Halo: CE should probably be the favorite at this point, but man, there's some serious Street Fighter overestimation going on here. The upset is possible, but... SFIV barely defeated a 3-D Sonic. With that in mind, I just can't see it beating UC2 all of the sudden - frankly, I'm not even convinced SFIV or SA2 could defeat The Legend of Dragoon. --- CURRENT GOTY SCORE: 56 Watch Outsourced! Dragoon doesn't look as impressive now as it did pre-contest, but it was still arguably the star of the vote-ins; and of course, this is a very JRPG-centric site. Not too difficult to see it beating SFIV and a 3-D Sonic, y'know? It definitely wouldn't be a lock by any means, but I'd totally take that upset. Especially if it was a night match. Stuff like this is why people need to never be like "oh lol the stats topic, lol b8 the casuals own you" because it's so untrue. THIS.
