Holy crap, this is pathetic. Metal Gear Solid goes 0/3 relative to the board's expectations. There's no way this division winner is touching Pokemon/Zelda in a day match. I mean holy toledo, call it an overreaction all you want, but MGS is totally up projectile vomit creek without a paddle. Forget sig bets, I'll bet real money with anyone who thinks the MGS rep will get to the semifinals.

We lose a few -3s, -4s and -5s but all three -2s manage to hang on. Overall the prediction percentage is pretty high and takes a while to fall below 90.

2 people fell off the Top 50. PierreDevereaux and YodaCracker did not have Diablo 2 beating Eternal Darkness.

Whoever wins this division (Either MGS3 or MGS4) will have no problem beating Pokemon GSC. After all, Pokemon GSC got plastered by Xenogears. No way can that upper midcarder beat a game that gets 47% on Brawl. 64% on Assassins Creed is quite good. AC is a midcarder

Ya know, I gave a smidgen of consideration to a Diablo > MGS4 upset. Had it been a day match, I might have given it pulled the trigger. Even in a night match, I think Diablo will do well for itself. Can't imagine it struggling against Assassin's Creed, at the very least.

It's hard to say about that one. If there's any LFF in that match, it would be Tales of Symphonia that benefited. Also God of War was winning at the 12 hour mark and ToS vs GoW is a night match in this contest. It doesn't help that Tales of Symphonia didn't look very good against RE5.

Not having a lot of experience with contests, I'm not sure if there's any LFF to be had in this poll or not.

Despite what some people say today, a lot of people said that ToS did have a sore thumb factor going for it back then. There's also the fact that GoW was leading after the first 12 hours and GoW3 has just came out.

Personally I feel it's going to be one of those close matches where GoW is never threatened.

Banjo-Tooie? Seriously? I'd be happy for BK to put up this kind of performance, but BT was ****ty in comparison. Blah. I'll stop hating long enough to say I'm glad to see BK may not be horrible fodder afterall...but it absolutely has to stay away from Nintendo.

I'll agree MGS hasn't looked good this round, though none of its opponents had much information. R2's gonna say so much more -- bring on MvsC2, Diablo 2, and SotC so we can get some much more respectable opponents.

There is quite a few matches that will be close in round 2

I don't think SF4's going to outdo what LoD did on Uncharted 2, DA:O isn't touching LoZ:TP, and MW2 was never going to beat KH...especially after letting Dissidia do so well on it. MGS4/Diablo 2 shouldn't be THAT close, either.

I'm still kinda up in the air about Portal/FFXII. On the one hand, Portal pretty much blew Gears 2 out of the water, while FF12 put up an underwhelming victory against a spinoff handheld in its own franchise, which should have been an SFF blowout. On the other hand, Gears 2 is borderline fodder so it's not like it would take much strength to blow it out to begin with.

Final Fantasy games are night beasts, by and large, but I don't know whether Portal is a day or a night game (though its bad showing in Asia, and showing a higher percentage in NA than Europe leads me to believe it might be a day game).

In the end, it's that night vote power that has me concerned.
