I have Paper Mario>WoW next round.

It shouldn't surprise anyone that WoW is a massive bracket favorite though.. take away stats and just use common sense, and consider one of the most popular and biggest games of the decade versus games like Animal Crossing and Paper Mario. If I didn't know the stats, I would take World of Warcraft to blow them away, no question.

To prove how ridiculous most x-stats are (maybe). But I almost had Uncharted 2 beating Fallout 3 in the Division Finals... I'm very glad I didn't.

Actually, I think World of Warcraft is probably the most accurate description of the Game of the Decade title outside of GameFAQs. It has been around for a very long time, it never seems to get old, and it is still huge and very popular.

Very true. If there is one game that defines a decade, its a game that is played for most of the decade and is still very popular. It defines it much moreso then a game you play for a month or two like a Final FantasY X, at least.

Problem with that is that the playrate of Melee went downhill as it got older. WoW is the opposite. It had 2 million subscribers when it came out, its up to 12 million now.

Snake Eater always had a chance. I think both MGS performances have been underwhelming, though. I'm considering lowering my Oracle for MGS2, but it's opponent may be on par with Eternal Darkness. That's some weak sauce right there.

Civ IV (I'm sure Persona 3 would be played a lot more than Eternal Darkness in general)
BG&E (Similar to above, though BG&E is a bit more niche, though it did have a release on Steam)
Other M (I'm pretty sure that any Metroid game, regardless of fan reception, should beat a niche non-JRPG GCN game)

Assassins Creed games and characters have always looked solid in contests. I would not be surprised at all if Assassins Creed is a mid carder. I thought it would get like 37-40% on MGS4, so MGS4 did better than I expected, so I don't see why everyone is saying this is such a horrible result for MGS4. Gotta give credit where credit is due instead of bashing MGS4.

AC got 55% on DMC, had the match lasted for 24 hours KotOR may have broke 60% or at least come close in doing so. Considering that MGS4 was thought to be around KH strength, no it wasn't good.

At the same time it doesn't spell doom for the game.

1. I don't like making up imaginary numbers for results. "Well KOTOR only got 58% on DMC BUT I say it would have gotten 62% in a 24-hour match despite that being utterly ridiculous."
2. MGS4 still outperformed by what MGS3 was expected to get on AC by about 5%.

No one is saying 62%. It is also unfair to KotOR to go by the 58% that it got on DMC, especially when one game is a night vote game and the other has a crazy day vote.

If you don't want to go with "random" numbers then just remember that AC was barely beating DMC in the morning of that match.

Analysis

I’ve always argued that Banjo-Kazooie has been underrated in the contest and the first time something from that series gets a fair match it has to be the sequel. Not saying that the sequel is bad or anything, but the strength of this game probably doesn’t give Banjo or Banjo-Kazooie any justice.

While considered to be the weakest of the main Metal Gear Solid games the game should have no problem pulling a blowout in this match. Even with that title Metal Gear Solid 2 still has decent strength while Banjo-Tooie really suffers from being released far too late in the Nintendo 64 lifecycle.

Some people expect Metal Gear Solid 2 to break 70% in this match and while it is possible I don’t think it’ll quite reach that mark. Banjo-Tooie while expected to be weak isn’t some random unknown thing that people don’t care about. Or at least that’s what I like to think.

MGS2 only getting 69.28% would mean Golden Sun would have a shot at beating it if UYA is comparable or stronger than Banjo-Tooie. Golden Sun did impress in its match but I'm not sure I'm ready to out it over MGS2.
