Based on the sales chart it has sold about 150k since the release of ME2, not all of it is caused by ME2 though.

you can't compare ME to something like Mega Man or Half-Life. ME1 and ME2 are linked in a way that those games aren't. the saves tie in and the decisions you make in one game affect the other. ME2 being huge absolutely affects 1 in a profound way. Albion is right when he says that Dragon Age is a tier below Mass Effect.

Yes, but there the console version sells more. The PC version would have to sell 1.3 million for vgchartz not to be full of it, when it almost assuredly sold less than 700k.

vgchartz has been proven wrong many times, not sure why people continue to reference it.

Not sure what numbers Albion was looking at, but Mass Effect 2 DID sell just over 700k in NA on the 360. However, VGChartz shows a grand total of about 960k for the 360 in week 1, and has no records on the PC release.

It's no secret that many companies will take the "shipped" number and tout that as "sales," since it's technically the number of copies they sold to the store. So, I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss Albion's numbers, or VGChartz.

Analysis

If this was any other site I would expect Baldur’s Gate II to take this match rather easily, but as we’ve seen time and time again GameFAQs does not care about old PC games. This is our last match with two terrible fodder games going against each other so at least we’ll be finished with that.

Skies of Arcadia was able to break 25% against Wind Waker in the previous contest which was a lot more than what people were expecting. Too bad we have no reliable numbers on the 128-bit division and Wind Waker was stuck against Melee in the following contest. Also like Shenmue demonstrated earlier and the way Vyse has dropped in strength since 2004 it is quite likely that Skies of Arcadia is even weaker than it showed in 2004.

There is very little information on Baldur’s Gate II with the most recent poll being the all-time favourite computer RPG series where it got crushed by The Elder Scrolls and Diablo. It did manage to defeat Fallout, but that was before Fallout 3 came into the picture. While it shows that some people know the series the vote total was terrible compare to the other genre polls, then again most of us are expecting this match to have to worst vote total of the contest.

I feel that Skies of Arcadia is the heavy favourite because the board likes to go with old fodder rather than new fodder when it comes to predicting. While Skies of Arcadia was a Dreamcast game it was also released on the Gamecube. I wouldn’t be surprised if Baldur’s Gate II won here, but like I said old PC gaming isn’t popular on GameFAQs and Baldur’s Gate doesn’t have the name brand as something like Civilization or the high respect of Deus Ex.
