Nope, but if you look at LS's percent voted among continents, SA/DS only had 77% of the votes from North America, the lowest from the region in a day match.

I don't know what happened with North America yesterday.

Didn't most Americans sleep through the extra hour? I'd assume it benefited DMC.

I don't know. But yeah, the extra hour would benefit DMC because of the one hour extension on the night vote. But looking at Leon's trend chart, the lowest vote intake for any hour was 4:00-5:00 AM, which would normally be 5:00-6:00 AM (or 6:00-7:00 AM in some weekend night matches) in a normal 12 hour night match.

Its niche on this site, since this site doesn't care about PC games in general.

Without a poll to prove whether or not PC gaming is unpopular, it's hard to say if this site doesn't care about PC games as much we are thinking. I don't think anyone has ever tried submitting a poll asking what is your favorite gaming platform (Console/Portable/PC). Here are the 2 polls that I am considering as possible polls to confirm just how much this site prefers console gaming over PC gaming or portable gaming:

That is pretty extreme, especially for a 6 option poll. I would probably take that option to get around 40% than 50%.

More interesting than the alternative, which would just have console dominating with 80+ %

80% is pretty extreme. I'll probably take console to get around 60-70% there, as I think PC could have what it takes to get around 20% there.

Apparently it was released here but looking at the various boxarts I can honestly say that I have never once seen it in any store whatsoever. I've seen Persona 4, Digital Devil Saga and Lucifer's Call but never Persona 3. I really thought it hadn't been released here but apparently it has.

Like i've said before in another topic Persona 3 was released here as pretty much an unknown game but somehow took off.There weren't many copies released in shops but online sites had quite a few copies in and they all sold out.It was the same with FES from what i recall but that got a release here because the fans cried out for it and got it.As for Persona 4 Koei didn't bother publishing that here but Square knew it'd make money so took over publishing it here and that sold out aswell.I'd say Persona has a pretty decent chance of beating C4 in Europe but it'll probably be close.

I'm not one of the old hands here, and I don't have the ethos most of you do, but...Civ 4 will beat Persona 3. I haven't clicked on the old polls, and for once, I'm not going to pay them any kind. We use the polls to argue anything at all, if you can find the right poll to make your case.

However, Civ is a known name. Persona is not. Civ is also a great game, and while I'm not saying that Persona isn't, I think that Civ is underrespected enough on these boards to get the seed it deserves. By contrast, some JRPG that was only nominally released in the US? Yeah, that's the kind of stuff B8 would eat up, and the rest of the world remains blissfully ignorant toward. I have a feeling you're going to have plenty of casuals strolling in to vote that will go "what the hell's a Persona, and why didn't I hear about 1 and 2?"

Yes, it's a night match, and that does make a big difference. The number of casuals is significantly diminished, and it also brings the Asian vote more strongly into the fold, but IMHO that's all Persona has going for it. If they do pull it off, that's about the only reason I can justify. That and all the Civ 4 fans being off playing Civ late at night instead of worrying about looking at GameFAQs.

Now excuse me, I have one more turn to play...

Absolutely. RBY is strong but it probably only gets 53-54% on MGS indirectly, which isn't strong enough to beat it with OOT there and nothing hindering MGS.

Oh, and CT/SOTN SFF is massive, because they're both night games that are popular in America. Meanwhile, the gap between 3D Mario and 2D Mario is clearly so big that Yoshi's Island/SM64 had no SFF at all. YI did so poorly from a combination of last place factor and being SNES SFF'd by CT.

Which means Chrono Trigger is our rightful #3 again, thanks to the massive CTDS boost.

Analysis

This is another fodder on fodder match and unlike Valkyria Chronicles vs. Disgaea the gurus are actually fairly split on this match. Like that match it could be a case of the higher seed winning, but I feel that Civilization IV still has a great chance. We don’t have much information on this match and taking a look at past polls suggest that while both games are weak they do have some fans in the series.

There has been a lot of debate as to which Persona game is stronger and while I feel that the fourth one may have the edge the third does have an argument. Persona 3 has been rereleased on the Playstation 2 and got ported to the PSP. I’m not sure how many new fans the rerelease brought Persona 3 since I wouldn’t be surprised if many previous owners bought it so that they can play all the extras while the PSP version barely sold anything in North America. Persona 4 despite being released even later into the Playstation 2’s life actually sold rather decently and from what I can tell the game is well liked among Persona fans.

Civilization while it has been nothing special in the polls it does traditionally avoid placing among the terrible games finishing just slightly above them. While this doesn’t say much it does show that the series is alive and while it isn’t the strongest on GameFAQs it does hold some name value which can help it against the people who have no idea what Persona is. The original’s performance in the previous game contest was pretty bad, but you have to remember that the first one wasn’t exactly that well liked and that Civilization IV should smash it rather easily.

If Persona 3 is stronger than Persona 4 I think it’ll take the match. While Persona 4 was nothing special it did put up 20% on Brawl in the last contest and I feel that Civilization IV would struggle to put up a similar performance. This may be one of the few matches where name brand may make a difference since while GameFAQs doesn’t care about Civilization a much higher number are aware of the series compare to Persona.
