Oh yeah, Civ looks pretty doomed. I'm definitely gonna stick with Persona 3 in both the Oracle and Battle Contest now. I hope Dead Rising can get past TWEWY and give Persona 4 a fight, at least.

Not really, my Oracle pick was 66% for Fire Emblem. Actually seeing it take place on the front page is pretty sad, though. As for tonight's match, I was getting more and more confident in P3, and there's no way I'll be banking now. P3 is the big favorite.

It was a somewhat questionable match early on. It seemed like one of those trap matches, since THPS2 was the **** back in the day, against a handheld game. It seems I gave Gamefaqs too much credit though.

Because it shows that Gamefaqs is too set in their ways with all their anime games to give anything western a chance. The only Western games that stand any chance on here are the big hits, not the more niche titles like Civ 4.

PC TBS -- it's not real-time.

I think Persona 3's got a good chance, maybe even a great one, but some of the reasoning for why it does is pretty goofy. Like, hey, a skateboarding game isn't popular? Civilization is screwed. That's not as bad as KP last night and the Civ 1 nonsense, but it's up there. I think, ultimately, despite the fact that Civilization IV is much more popular than Persona practically everywhere else, P3 appeals to the GameFAQs audience a lot more -- which may be the deciding factor over being far more well-known. A shame, but it's GameFAQs!

Niche JRPGS have historically been really weak here. Notice that all the niche JRPGS that have impressed this contest- the 2 Fire Emblem games and Mother 3- are all from Nintendo. It's because being from Nintendo basically automatically removes you from the "niche" category.
