Which is why I think everyone got blown away when he beat Riku and Roxas combined in 2007 because he never really got a legit chance to shine. He had Arabusa in 2004, and then Zero and Dante.

And while I think about it, Wind Waker got 44% on Diablo 2 despite the elephant in the room that is Melee.

Almost makes me glad in a way that I didn't end up pulling the trigger on Oblivion > Wind Waker, even though it doesn't really make sense.

Yeah, Wind Waker beating Halo despite Melee being there is pretty good. Took Oblivion over it- well guess I can't stop myself from taking risks, even after resolving to be risk-averse this year. I've still got a pretty cookie-cutter bracket, but there's only so much cookie cutting I can stomach before needing to pick something like Crono > Sephiroth.

I think Wind Waker is a pretty underrated game around these parts, but I've already said as much before. It didn't really get a fair shake last time around, which makes it an interesting entrant this time around. We'll get a decent point of reference right away since WW faces GoW2 in round 1 and Oblivion faced GoW1 last year.

Also, I wonder what the general board reaction to KH2/Halo 2 will be tomorrow. Both of these franchises have a lot of anti-trolls.

I'm surprised you haven't noticed these kinds of topics already! There were lots yesterday when GTA lost to R/S/E and there are some today with TP beating Shenmue.

Analysis

Not much has been said about this match it seems that everyone just took Bioshock and was done with it. For good reason too, while Battlefront II has its share of fans it’s no KotOR. On the other side while Bioshock isn’t some powerhouse it did break 35% on Metal Gear Solid 4 making it have decent strength plus the release of Bioshock II doesn’t hurt either.

The only numbers that we have on Battlefront II are its GotY performance where it did pretty well for a year that was crushed by Resident Evil 4 and the vote-ins where it barely lost to Legend of Dragoon. With all the SFF and LFF it’s hard to sift through everything, but Legend of Dragoon did perform pretty well against Uncharted 2, though the game is an unknown.

Some people are expecting a crushing win by Bioshock, but Bioshock isn’t that strong and at the same time everything is suggesting Battlefront II isn’t very weak. Bioshock II may have brought fans back to the site earlier this year, but how many of them have stayed.

Yeah, we haven't had a good read on Wind Waker since 2004. People think it's weak because it lost to Starcraft while it was on a big streak and got stuck with Melee in 2009. This will be the first time it will get to really prove itself, and it probably doesn't hurt that it'll probably be even better received now than in 2004.

WW should do great, and I think it's more likely it'll win its division than it will lose to Oblivion.

Bioshock, very nice. Remember, Battlefront II barely lost to Dragoon in the vote-ins. If you assume those two are about equal and assume Bioshock holds in the mid-60s, then it would slap Uncharted 2 around in any time frame.

It took a long time and we had to lose nearly all of them before it happened but finally all the perfects manage to get a match correct. The -1s were pretty close to going perfect but they couldn't quite pull it off. Overall the prediction percentage for the match was pretty good. All the way down to the -10s manage to stay above 90.

Despite the high prediction percentage, 2 people still fell off the Top 50. Burns1111 and Keybored123 did not have The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess beating Shenmue.

Kinda interested to see where it goes from here. Bioshock was gaining in % at the end there. If it can get to 70%, and facing KH2 in a night match... that just seems like something you can't just call a lock for KH2.

Yeah, I would as well. I mean damn, the only reason I moved Bioshock down to 62% was because I remembered its opponent practically tying Legend of Dragoon, which went on to do very well against Uncharted 2. I know those vote-ins can be faulty, but if we had Bioshock vs. UC2 right now, it would be very hard for me NOT to side with Bioshock.

Oddly enough, I didn't even blink making that call...it was just a gut feeling that was like "yup gotta go with Bioshock."

Then I started reading some of the topics on the board here for battle purposes and got kinda scared.

But if Bioshock can hold in the 65-70% range, I'll feel good about my pick again.

Also, this doesn't change anything about Halo/Uncharted. You guys realize they already share opponents from the same vote-in (Ninja Gaiden and Legend of Dragoon), and Uncharted 2 is projected to edge it out?

My gut pick was within half a % of where we are now... so naturally I lowered it 8%.

Oh and this means UC2 is, in all likelihood, completely screwed against Halo (3). BioShock was around Halo 3 level last time, and while it's probably boosted somewhat since, this makes UC2 look like it flopped in dealing with LoD. Could be wrong, of course, but the gaps in the margin of victory are too big not to notice.

Hmm... truth. Even if Dragoon is stronger than Battlefront, Bioshock might outscore UC2 by 10%+ here. That's massive, and another early point in Snake Eater's favor, yes!
