Heh,
so the Pokeys pulled it off. Pokemon is just over 49% in CA now when it
was at around 47% a while ago. Doubt GTA has any chance left. But
still, if we ignore our adjustments after the DPP/Fusion match (many of
those Oracle predictions favoring GTA by very little would have likely
favored Pokemon had DPP won more convincingly), does this count as a
second disappointing performance from Pokemon? Or were many of you

I used to have Emerald winning, god damnit ... why did DPP have to go up and suck ass against Fusion If anything, this proves that Fusion's higher numbers were due to Nintendo/DS SFF rather than DPP just being that bad. Granted, DPP is one of the weakest of the four generations, but nobody wanted to listen when I said that Metroid was sucking votes away from Pokemon. |

Struggling to get 55% on Metroid Fusion is never a good thing. There's really no way to spin that to make D/P/P look good. Sure you can. Metroid Fusion = RE5 based on vote-in. That puts Pokemon DPP above ToS and GoW which isn't too bad. Also it was a night match so Pokemon DPP underperformed. --- Dr_Football punted my bracket across the field. I didn't say that DPP looked good, I said that Fusion SFFed it to make it look worse than it really was. In short, people ignored the possibility that, despite not being the strongest title in the franchise, Fusion might actually have a sapping effect on DPP's votals. |

always the opposite. LFF is when a weaker game causes a stronger game

to underperform, and that's only in 4-ways. The only way to explain the results is if GTA was weaker than expected, or RSE was stronger than expected. If GTA isn't weaker than expected, that means the only logical conclusion is that RSE was stronger than expected. And since our measure for RSE's strength is based on DPP's match against Fusion, it's only logical to conclude that DPP's weak performance is due to losing votes to another Nintendo handheld game. I don't know if I'm just using the terms wrong (I never really understood what LFF meant, exactly), but unless we assume GTA is simply underperforming, there is no other logical explanation for the current voting trends. |
