This match is pretty meaningless, although I like that Melee won't face a single Nintendo game on its path to Brawl, allowing it to flex its muscles in more "legit" matches. Brawl will have only one non-Nintendo opponent, Valkyria Chronicles.

Dude, the SFF shouldn't be so bad for this match. Brawl isn't against another Wii game.

But yes I have to think that, considering how every veteran from '07 and later has sucked so far, Melee will win the match. And I'm going to have to play through it over summer once the contest is done (my summer starts in March, tee hee).

The perfects did a lot better than everyone else this time. They manage nearly 80% prediction percentage. The next few tiera after that are in the 50-60 range with the high-middle tiers doing best.

13 people fell off the Top 50 today. ravaggle, uzeq, Oritsu, DarkDuckMan, SinewyAnaBlue, Popcornball, nighteyes20052, Singletrac, Huskies7774, somberfox, The_Good_Man, Dutch_inc, TBSMookfisher thought Disgaea was going to win the match.

1 person got the match wrong and survived. Former first place mister_flare also thought Disgaea was going to win the match but manages to stay on the Top 50.

When will people learn that comparing the two games' performances objectively will mean next to nothing once they actually meet?

I don't know who will win, and I don't see how it can be discerned at all unless one game totally craps the bed against inferior competition.

I agree. I won't be TOO confident no matter what happens; this one is gonna GET SETTLED on match day and not a second before, especially since Brawl has two Nintendo games and one terrible fodder. Impossible to use that to gauge anything. I guess if Melee just kills CoD, that'll look impressive.

Actually CoD4 could be quite a good measuring stick. If you assume that the wartime shooter hasn't declined since last year and Melee still even gets close to matching Brawl's number against it...ouch, Brawl, just ouch.

Brawl got 62% on CoD in R2 and an awesome 69% in R3, although the non-Nintendo competition and Stand Out Factor obviously helped Brawl (we saw the same thing help Zelda tremendously when it was up against MGS3, RE4, and WoW). If Melee actually approaches that second percentage in a 1v1, then yowza.
