I know he was probably just kidding, but Leonhart probably has very little sway with South Africa's votes. It's an English speaking nation with a noticeable group of very wired people, I presume.. I would be surprised if we're not getting at least 50 votes from there each match.

At this point into the contest, Africa has been getting an average of about 53 votes per night match and about 46 votes per day match. So none of the matches in this contest would have at least 50 votes from South Africa.

Analysis

As a person who has logged a lot of hours in Mario Kart DS it really hurts to see the game put in such a bad position in the bracket. Brawl is one of the favourites to win the contest and everyone is hyping the division final between it and Melee. Melee went off to a great start by smashing Guitar Hero II and while we’re getting nothing over their first round appearances it would be nice if Brawl looked pretty good here.

After its performance in the vote-in it’s expected that Mario Kart DS is a bit weaker than what the GotY poll suggested. You can blame LFF, but in the end the game lost to Legend of Dragoon and Battlefront II. Then again Legend of Dragoon did put up some decent numbers on Uncharted 2, but they’re not decent enough to make Mario Kart DS roughly equal to God of War.

Overall it doesn’t matter where Mario Kart DS ranks since Brawl is going to SFF it to the ground. Brawl got 83.50% on Mario Kart Wii in the GotY poll and since both games have been heavily debated as to which one is stronger it’s a good start to see how well Brawl will do. The degree of SFF would be a bit less since they are on different systems plus I suspect Brawl to be slightly weaker now than its performance in the poll. Overall Brawl should be in the 70s with a great chance at breaking 75%.

i knew VC would win. I got that going through in my bracket but peoples Disgaea bias tempted me away from risking points on battle...and i needed to as well as Warcraft really ***** me an d loads of people over.

VC is sold more than any Disgaea game in America/Europe, it was also reviewed well on a system which barely had any exclusive JRPG's. This result doesn't surpriose me...i mean Disgaea was probably fav before the match but i'm glad i picked VC in my bracket.
