Not unless you have about 500 votes sitting in your pocket. |

Glad
I switched my battle pick over to Morrowind after Fable's performance
and taking a harder look at Starcraft's drop. 12,000 points in the bank
if I stop before Fire Emblem/WWF. Think I'll probably go for it though,
unless everybody bombs out. --- Dr Football and Snake have won this round, but Sephiroth will rise again! |
Ayuyu | Posted 10/28/2010 6:56:10 PM | message detail |
I don't think so, we probably saw it's strongest push just a few minutes ago and Morrowind is already taking back what it lost. --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Lo0qD6rOz8 |

Warcraft's only chance is if Blizzard itself puts a link to the poll on Battle.net and its Facebook pages. Yeah, WC is pretty much done. I'd figure name recognition alone can get Warcraft over Elder Scrolls III, but I'll never doubt the likes of a console RPG in matches like these again. I guess many of us here forgot that GameFAQs is generally not big on PC games not named Diablo. --- It takes a genius to make something simple truly great. Dr. Football, you are the man! I'll take you down next contest though... |
Not_Wylvane | Posted 10/28/2010 6:58:44 PM | message detail |
From: Lieutenant Kettch | #302 12000 points, huh? That'd be a great place to bank, but at the same time, if you actually pull it off you'll be in a great position when you do bank at the next debatable match. Still, banking at 12k would put you in a great position anyway. Don't envy your position! --- Wylvane special_sauce is a horrible user. |
Greyfeld | Posted 10/28/2010 6:59:22 PM | message detail |
there
was no push by WC3, it was a drop by Morrowind. The reason Morrowind
got those votes back is because WC3 suddenly tanked for a few updates.
If it could stay around a consistent 140 votes per update, there'd be a
chance, but that's not happening. |
Ayuyu | Posted 10/28/2010 6:59:24 PM | message detail |
From: kinsho3 | #304 Morrowind is first a PC game and then a console game, easy to see with the UI. --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Lo0qD6rOz8 |

Warcraft would need to win around 23 votes per update to have a chance at winning. Yyyyeah. Well, it was fun while it lasted. |
Greyfeld | Posted 10/28/2010 7:02:59 PM | message detail |
Yeah, WC is pretty much done. I'd figure name recognition alone can get Warcraft over Elder Scrolls III, but I'll never doubt the likes of a console RPG in matches like these again. I guess many of us here forgot that GameFAQs is generally not big on PC games not named Diablo. I didn't forget, just an overwhelming number of people told me "Don't worry, Warcraft is stronger, and if it starts losing, it has huge rally potential. It'll win for sure!" That'll teach me to go with my first pick. Every single toss-up pick I've made thusfar in this contest has been wrong. So I decided I was going to switch to Morrowind... then people convinced me that WC3 would win. Now I know that from now on, I need to not listen to myself so I can win some matches. Yes, I'm aware of how incredibly confusing and ridiculous that sounded. |

From: Ayuyu | #207 This is true...but I think it's reasonable to say that it's getting a good portion of the votes from its Xbox port. From: Greyfeld | #209 Confusing indeed, but I think you and I have the same problem. My gut reaction bracket is kicking my real bracket's ass right now by 4 points. Four freaking points. Kind of sad considering I spent a good amount of time thinking about some of these toss-up matches too, only to have my logic and reasoning be proven wrong time and time again by my gut. --- It takes a genius to make something simple truly great. indeed, but I think you and I have the same problem. My gut reaction
bracket is kicking my real bracket's ass right now by 4 points. Four
freaking points. Kind of sad considering I spent a good amount of time
thinking about some of these toss-up matches too, only to have my logic
and reasoning be proven wrong time and time again by my gut. Yeah... even before the match started, I was thinking "You know... with how popular the 360 is on these boards, and the fact that it's a day match, maybe I should go with Morrowind." Then everybody tells me WC3 is a lock, and I'm like "Alright!!" Now I'm feeling very stabby >.< |

How is anyone's bracket screwed? I'm 1/5 on toss-up matches pending WCIII's loss, but those are one-pointers at best. I took Super Mario Sunshine to lose to Sonic Adventure 2 in the third round, that's how. |

you have already lost 4 points then yeah, you are screwed. That is
unless you have taken a few gambles on later round matches. If you have
popular later round picks then you are already out, people with
superior points thus far have you covered. |

Okay,
SMS and Sonic in the third hurts, but calling Melee v. Brawl and how
far GSC will travel is worth so much more. Then again, you are in bad
shape if someone has you completely covered in that area. --- "I skate when I want to!" -Benjamin Franklin (http://thengamer.com/guru/bracket.php?id=264) |
Greyfeld | Posted 10/28/2010 7:33:59 PM | message detail |
I pretty much assume that somebody has that covered better than I do. My elite 8 look like this: Fallout 3>HL2 SSBM>Z:TP FFX>RE4 MGS4>GSC Aside from taking Half Life 2 up to the quarter finals, I don't see anything else in my bracket that's really an upset and would give me an edge if I got it right. Like I said, my bracket is screwed. And for those people who are making comments about my SA2/SMS picks, that's not necessary. I assumed Halo would tank, end of story. There's no need to harp on it, I've already spent enough time beating myself over the head about it. |

brawl/melee is going to break a huge number of brackets. Since I'm taking Melee, I would suggest everybody else take Brawl. Considering my track record, the fact that I'm taking Melee at all should tell you which game is going to win. |

Match XIX: (5) Perfect Dark vs. (12) Conker’s Bad Fur Day Information Name: Perfect Dark Year: 2000 Previous Performance: SpC2k9 – 3rd in round 1 Name: Conker’s Bad Fur Day Year: 2001 Previous Performance: N/A Analysis With so few Nintendo 64 games in the bracket you’d think SBAllen would have been able to separate the titles from each other. The match is rather simple, it’s a third tier Nintendo 64 game up against a fourth tier Nintendo 64 game, the only question here is how bad will the SFF be? Perfect Dark was loved by the fanbase with the only major fault being that it was released a bit late into the Nintendo 64 lifespan. Conker was released within months of the release of the Gamecube. Just looking at the past and even how fans react today Perfect Dark was the bigger game, even when Rare decided to release new games on the Xbox360 Perfect Dark Zero had much more hype and the re-release of Perfect Dark was much bigger than anything Conker has brought back. Even if I decided to take Perfect Dark’s performance seriously last year and ignore SFF I would still feel confident in the game today. While very little is known about Conker and thus its strength being unknown just knowing about how the Nintendo 64 fanbase worked is enough to feel totally confident about Perfect Dark. As for SFF I do expect it to show up and feel that Perfect Dark will be in the 60s in this match. charmander6000’s Bracket: Perfect Dark > Conker’s Bad Fur Day charmander6000’s Prediction: Perfect Dark wins, 63.83% - 36.17% --- BOP Results: http://charmander6000.webs.com/GotD%20BOP.xls GotD Bracket: 14/16 Today's Matches: SSBM & WC3 |
