I like Brawl and Melee. Brawl nerfed a bunch of characters but the single-player had a story and there were lots of unlockables besides trophies. Melee had a faster speed (which I LIKED) and the characters were more even. Brawl had online matches, even if the wi-fi isn't that great. Both are great games.

No, Brawl is responsible for the death of gaming and anyone who likes it is the Antichrist.

Based on nothing concrete I'd reckon Brawl will have fallen off slightly from what it was a year or two back, the buzz it had back then and the droves it brought to this site just aren't in the quantity it once was.
It does appear to be the strongest Nintendo title of the Wii era though not by very much, I'd probably favour TP in fact these days. I just feel its aged better and doesn't have the negativity attached to it anymore. Strikes me a bit like FFVIII, a fantastic game released in the shadow of one of the greatest of all time made it a hate target for a few years before people finally appreciated what a great game it was. TP and WW are a bit the same in the shadow of OOT, I think they'll improve with time.

I'd take Melee over it of course, the strength of FFX in previous game of the decade polls cannot be ignored and its really indicative of NintendoFAQs that its not the favourite going into this, because it has the best reason to be on previous evidence. I don't know if it'll win but it would beat Brawl.

Pokemon Crystal beating it seems possible, As does Half-Life 2, Resident Evil 4, Metal Gear Solid 3 and Majora's Mask in a 1v1 setting. Maybe I'll learn to respect brawl by the end of the contest but it seems right now to be a bit of a fraud, there's a lot of people who expect it to do well and very few who actually want it to do well.

We lose a fair chunk of perfects on this match as well. The perfects end up doing worse than the -1s who did slightly worse than the -2s. The top tiers still did a lot better than the lower tiers.

8 people fell off the Top 50. Tallanvor01, Frost_Ice, MrMaster89, blindinglights, neoalan00, Wolverine_21, BleepBloop360 and mmalpiedi did not have Perfect Dark beating Conker's Bad Fur Day.

Modern Warfare 2 has a night match! Against a Final Fantasy game! Well it's not a mainline FF and it's a PSP exclusive, but still!

I still think Modern Warfare 2 will win but wowzers. It might go the same way as Halo 3 against Super Mario Sunshine.

I went with 64%, so it'll end up just a bit below what I expected. I saw quite a few people in the Oracle going with a doubling or more, though, so that becomes a more significant underperformance in their eyes.

Did anyone even play the original prince of persia back in the day? No one plays PoP for the character, and it was in a poll with metal gear, ZELDA, and gta, big deal.

Also I am not a shooter guy at all but COD4 and MW2 are probably the two best in the genre that I have played in the past five or so years. I just got around to playing MW2 for the PC (it came with my PC) and holy crap was it intense and gripping, and it easily has my vote for its match and I am a huge FF fan so yeah.

Stop, seriously. I realize that even replying to anything you say is a waste of time so I'll just do it this once. We've already went over this before. Characters definitely don't equal games. Also, the original PoP was an absolutely terrible mess, whereas Sands of Time should be somewhere on everyones best game ever list. It's the most liked game in the series by far.

I'd expect MW2 to be weaker. MW2 has had tons of backlash and I've never heard anything but good things from MW1

And yeah, it'll likely end up like 63% here after the ASV... but still, there is no excuse to not get 70%+ on a game like Sands of Time.

We've never seen Sands before. It's gotta be the strongest PoP game by a huge margin. It's the one that reinvented the series and was lauded with tons of GotY praise in 2003. My original Oracle prediction was actually 61% not only because I thought CoD would have some trouble in this format, but because I thought Sands would be the only thing from its series with some measure of strength.

We saw CoD4 do well enough last year that we can give it the benefit of the doubt here -- CoD4 got 58.58% on GTA4 last year before MW2 took the GotY-award home. PoP:SoT is likely just surprising us here. If MW2 struggles with Dissidia later on (still don't buy) or if CoD4 doesn't impress against PD though (wish I could buy), then yeah, there will be significantly better room to doubt the CoD-series here...but until I see more from this, I'm inclined to golf-clap for PoP:SoT instead of hiss at CoD4.

Not a great performance though, I'll agree.
