I have to agree with Soul, except I would probably put 3 over SA. Vice City is by far the strongest GTA, and the only GTA I managed to not get bored with after an hour.

Uh, just noticed something kinda scary yet kinda meaningless on the leaderboard: SSBM's got the most bracket-support for the championship at seven picks while SSBB has...none. In fact, it's got more bracket-support than the Wii-library represented on the leaderboard right now (SMG, NSMBW, and LoZ:TP combine for six).

The contest's still young, but we're dealing with the fastest perfects right now after fourteen matches through two tough divisions. We'll see how that changes more as we get more matches -- we just got past our first week -- but the confidence in SSBB looks poor at this point.

Whats up with these pathetic votals this year anyway... Didn't we average like 50k a night match last contest? And we're struggling to get 40k here..

I'm guessing a lack of notable game releases is causing poor site traffic. When there are huge game releases (like Brawl), it results in much higher site traffic and thus higher vote totals. As for the averages for the last contest, you can check them out here:

Did a little x-stating on the GTAs from '09.

San Andreas: ~34% on TP (through Oblivion, probably a little underrated due to MGS3/RE4 hurting Oblivion more than TP)
Vice City: ~38.6% on KH (straight from R1)
GTA3: ~ 29.3% on Melee (through Diablo II, using R3, with FFX/KH, if using R2 - with WW - then ~36.1%)
GTAIV: ~35.8% on Brawl (straight from R1)

I think all it tells us is that the most hardcore followers of the contest have Melee as the favorite, and I coulda told you that even before the contest started. But it doesn't mean Brawl won't be a heavy casual favorite in the match though

I was the 33rd person to vote. WTF though, i refresh loads of times after 5pm and it kept coming up with yesterdays match. The HL2/L4D match didn't come up till 5:02pm...i voted, refreshed and it's back to yesterdays match.

HL2 will level off with about 73% by night's end. GoW had 65% (15,500 vote lead). It's still interesting.

I think vote totals should start getting back on track again. The last match stopped showing up on the homepage, so we should start seeing around 500 votes per update now instead of 200-300.

Yep, all HL2 had to do really was outdo GoW's percentage on L4D to continue looking like it did pre-contest: somewhat-stronger than GoW. L4D2 should probably be weaker than L4D, but not by a mile or anything...and since L4D2's a newcomer and in a position to be SFF'd (whether it is or isn't is debatable), it's hard to take anything else from this match than HL2 doing what it needed to do to keep its pre-contest reputation strong.

R1 in this division has been much more about HL2's opponents than HL2 anyway.
