No, I'd take FO3 > WW myself, and Oblivion isn't TOO far behind FO3.

Oblivion got like 52% on Tales of Symphonia. it also got 45%ish on RE4. I guess it depends on how seriously you take those numbers.

Analysis

While I was a pretty big supporter of LittleBigPlanet and the fact that it’s stronger than what the stats show I just don’t see it winning over Grand Theft Auto III. The gap the game would have to cover is way too large plus it doesn’t help that Grand Theft Auto III falls in line with the Game of the Decade way of thinking.

Last contest LittleBigPlanet was given its worst opponent in the form of Metal Gear Solid 4. While it doesn’t seem that the two have much in common the match was done at the time where one of the few reasons to own a Playstation 3 was to get Metal Gear Solid 4. Today if the poll was done again I wouldn’t be surprised if LittleBigPlanet performs significantly better. The main question becomes how much stronger is LittleBigPlanet? Sackboy went from bad fodder to fodder line when Solid Snake was removed, but you also have to remember that was before LittleBigPlanet was released so expect a smaller boost.

While Grand Theft Auto III came in last place in the previous contest it did so in the second closest four-pack and was able to get 45% on the winner, Diablo II. While the game is no major threat in this bracket at the same time people have to get over the idea that anything from the Grand Theft Auto series is weak. Grand Theft Auto III should finish at around the 60% mark, but can do better if there wasn’t that much SFF between Metal Gear Solid 4 and LittleBigPlanet.

flop is BT's terminology, not mine.

Maybe DS didn't do awfully, but put it next to InFamous and Uncharted 2 and it's not exactly too far fetched to discern an "underperformance."

The PS3 games aren't impressing, but they're not underperforming.

inFamous did worse than expected against Fallout 3, but Fallout 3 had a release a day before the match. Uncharted 2 wasn't expected to be that decent while LoD was going to be more than bad fodder. No one except KP thought DS was going to be worth much and took it because they thought MM9 was going to be worse.

I expected LoD to do considerably better on Uncharted 2 than it did, and I've not really decided on whether that's LoD's fault for failing my expectations or Uncarted 2's fault for surpassing them. I also want to see MM9 next round before I say much on Demon's Souls.

Only 1/3 had DS winning, even fewer thought it would be an easy win. It was a very small, but vocal group in that match.

Check match #70 before being so out of the loop, please. Okami was always the favorite, and MM9 was the favorite over DS so there's little reason for DS to suddenly be preferred to reach Round Three there.

I think the main difference is that for SMS > Halo 3 I disagreed with it and was done with it. For DS > MM9 you and some of the other people actually made me feel bad that I gave MM9 the thought of winning.

Heck, I think MM9 outdid the expectations that the two MM9 -> Braid -> Lost Odyssey -> InFamous -> Demon's Souls's loose connections made, and considering DS quadrupled Shadow Complex, it was hard to say if MM9 was really THAT much stronger than Shadow Complex (or FF4:TEY, which seems to have only beaten Shadow Complex through a brand-name bigger than Mega Man's).

Yo was wrong about SMS > Halo 3, sure, but many Halo 3 > SMS-supporters didn't think it would even be close while I can't imagine MM9-supporters being so confident in it beating DS. Also, he was really arguing off of the humor of the pick...not really the legitimacy of the pick.
