I'm thinking that all the people saying "Mega Man sucks in Europe" are full of crap.

Eh, it's more "Mega Man sucks in the UK", because if you look at past matches, the UK has a tendency for very poor taste. Hence why Sonic does traditionally good in the UK.

Okami got demolished in the 2009 contest. I put MM9 over it.

It's not entirely inconceivable that Okami could lose next round, but I'm still giving Okami over a 90% chance.

Just think about it logically.. Okami is on multiple systems that are far more popular than the PS3. It's far more well known and discussed on GameFAQs from what I've seen than Demon's Souls. People have actually mentioned Okami to me outside of the internet. Right now, MM9 is struggling to beat Demon's Souls.

Okami's pretty much got next round locked up.

Depending on how you look at it DPPl/Metroid could be a toss-up, as well as RSE/GTA4.

Those matches are in the next two divisions.

The biggest danger in this division to me is GTA3/LBP, just because LBP is a pretty big unknown and you never know what you're going to get from GTA.

I don't have faith in RE5 to be worth much of anything. The game has sucked in every poll. This isn't like SFIV/SA2 where we don't really know anything about SA2. We know ToS is decent. RE5 probably isn't. The fact that the most recent mainline RE game nearly missed the contest altogether says a lot about what the fanbase thinks of it.

SFIV barely beat a 3-D Sonic game. Sure, that's a nice leap up from nearly losing to Persona 4, but I'm not giving it a medal for that.

Majora would wipe Prime so hard. There's no reason to think the 55/45 Wind Waker/Prime line has changed much over the years, and there's no reason for me to believe Majora would get 55/45'd by WW before SFF. Other way around, if anything.

ToS kept up with God of War. RE5 got killed by God of War 2. I'm not sure how much stronger GoW2 is than GoW but it would have to be by quite a bit before RE5 looks like it can compete.

Yeah, you were one of the people who thought MM could beat Brawl after that GOTY poll!

I don't understand why people have such a high opinion of that game's strength. Being the sequel to OoT doesn't necessarily mean good things for it.

Yay, i can finally get in on the conversation. Personally, I hated Majora's Mask. Ocarina was way better and Majora's Mask was weird. It confused me and I never did beat it.

It confused me and I never did beat it.

Now I know why it was awesome!

If a game like SMS can be affected by negative stigma so much, than Wind Waker can also. I think people "hate" Majora's Mask less.

I thought both Majora and WW were pretty bad. But i actually finished Majora if that means anything.

Demon's Souls making a bit of headway. I seriously doubt it's ability to even consistently cut 10 votes per update though.. and even that would not be enough especially come morning when MM9 will pick it back up.

I'm no Zelda expert or anything, but Majora's Mask always felt like it took a lot of flack for being "Not-OoT." It got swallowed up in OoT's shadow. It was a non-traditional Zelda. At least Wind Waker had the 'Cube all to itself.

It got 36.26% on RBY in round 1, and even when you throw G/S/C into the equation, it still never gets that close (45.11% on RBY) and doesn't finish that far ahead of G/S/C either (53.28%).

Wind Waker got 34.35% on SSBM round 1 and 34.75% in round 2. I'll give MM a little benefit of the doubt in round 1 because it had to deal with Banjo-Kazooie and Perfect Dark, two other N64 games (taking up less than 20% combined though), but Wind Waker putting up a similar percentage on Melee is more impressive than what MM put up on RBY, at least to me.

I've just never been impressed with anything I've ever seen from MM. It feels like one of those Board 8 creations.

MM is one of those games that has a few really vocal fans who are just pissed that OoT overshadows it. As Leon said, it's a B8 creation. It doesn't have anywhere near the strength of OoT.

It's a good game though.

G/S/C will beat MM regardless though :)

I guess it depends on how much slack you want to give both MM (two other N64 games in the poll) and WW (Melee SFF), and which of the RBY/Melee duo you think was stronger in those early rounds. I'll tell you, though, that I don't think sharing a console with OoT is a bad thing when you're up against non-OoT Zeldas. MM's gameplay was different, but the graphical style, many of the characters, the music - that was all very reminiscent of its big bro, and I think that will help it. What DID hurt Majora's Mask, however, was the Expansion Pack; you couldn't even play it without upgrading your N64, and I don't think a Majora's Mask/Expansion Pack bundle was ever made available.

No one was debating it being near OoT.

Only FFVII is near OoT, and then nothing's near FFVII.

I'd only put MM a smidge above WW.

Guess we'll get a direct comparison through GSC though!

DS is only winning by 52% in the UK(less than the rest of Europe!). That said, now that we're actually waking up, there might be a pretty big turn around.
