I'm
still trying to understand the whole downloadable game = less votes
argument for MM9. To me it seems like it would cause it to get more
votes because it's available to everyone across all 3 systems for a
cheap price! Do people see downloadable games somehow as 'lesser games'

At any rate, how Dead Rising does against TWEWY may tell how Mass Effect will do in later rounds. I don't really think the two are related. Mass Effect, now as a series, is significantly more popular than Dead Rising, and it's a much more appealing type of game for the GameFAQs audience as well. Although it probably won't matter unless ME pulls off the upset against FFXII or something, which would be pretty rockin'. --- A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step. |

Well
that's where I'm figuring they won't be able to put together an
unbeaten run from Round 2 all the way to the end like I will, and
they'll **** up somewhere while I won't. Who knows, but I went into this battle thing with a plan of attack and it's working so far. Combos are what matter most and the longest strings of easy matches will be in Round 1. Round 1 data may let you know which matches are 50-50 but it doesn't help you pick a winner. That knowledge may in fact be counterproductive since it's scare you into banking instead of aiming for a long streak. --- "Let me believe what you've always believed! That living is wonderful!" Why
is MM9 going up in percentage now? At the 15 minute mark, the match
looked wide open, but now MM is rising fast in percentage as well as
votes. --- Nominate Crono so he can get a higher seed and avoid being fed to Clinkeroth early in the contest. |

DMC3 is a somewhat popular game here with a popular protagonist, so it won DMC3 is incredibly weak, and let the biggest joke of the contest get around 40% on it. how did I somehow get railroaded into taking DS when the majority seem
to be for MM9 anyway. I must have been clicking in some crazy ass
topics at inopportune times. Called every debatable match wrong so far.

We've seen sequels significantly boos characters, sure, but I'm not convinced they'd boost the original games. So
far, the only debatable match I've gotten right is TF2/Fable... but on
the bright side, I had RB2, SA2, SMS and Demon's Souls losing in Round
Two anyway. I just really hope Portal pulls through for me and makes it to the division finals...! --- DEMON'S SOULS/MEGA MAN 9 You guys pumped?!? |

I'm
not arguing that DR2 wouldn't help Dead Rising -- and I think it'll
still beat TWEWY by a good bit -- but it wouldn't provide nearly the
retroactive boost that ME2 could to ME1. Mass Effect as a whole has
gotten much more popular as of late than when the original came out,
and that should help it a good bit. Though, again, it doesn't have much
to worry about unless we're discussing ME / FFXII or Portal. --- A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step. |

Megaman is a franchise which can easily be rallied for; Something Demon Soul's has against it. Not to mention that early voters are more likely to already know what they're voting for. could actually end up surprisingly close. Demon's Souls is a PS3
exclusive that's popular in Europe, while Megaman always collapses
after the first 4 hours. He's like Crono except his day vote is average
instead of horrible, so come ASV time, MM doesn't fall much or even
goes up somewhat. --- Nominate Crono so he can get a higher seed and avoid being fed to Clinkeroth early in the contest. |
