Banking in the first round is so much wiser, Wylvane. Why not just wait until you've at least got some information to go on. I'm playing it conservative through the first round and then plan to just not bank more than once or twice from then on out.

Unexpectedly high bracket support for Mother 3. Maybe not so unexpected since Mother 3 had an unexpectedly high level of strength. The perfects and -1s actually ended up doing a bit worse than the -2s and -3s. I suppose this is partially due to the Board 8 users in the range who thought this match was obvious. Board 8 did really underestimate Mother 3. If it was up against a weaker game, we wouldn't have been killed again.

13 people fell off the Top 50 today. SpyderScythe, JRockish2, Dues0001, mcg20k, executorelder, mellahan, SikkaSill, NintendoMoose, NinjaWarrior455, ExMechaGodzilla, jayessbee23, aamot and EvilGenius247 didn't have Devil May Cry 3 beating Mother 3.

Because you need all the points you can get. The points you've sat out on early on will bite you in the ass later on.


And regarding the update, it was obvious MM would fall in %... but it still gained like 40. As long as it keeps the gains up, its fine.

After seeing Mother 3 of all games putting up 36%, this result doesn't surprise me. Name brand definitely matters. I mean are you gonna sit here and tell me that 36% of the site played Mother 3? A great deal of round 1 matches will involve games that people haven't even played before.. I'm willing to bet a very sizable percentage of the population hasn't played either of these games, and Mega Man just wins votes by default.

That was my logic for picking Mega Man 9 here.. and while the match certainly isn't over by any means, the early results are encouraging.

**** that. If I win big in Round 1, I can still use that knowledge in Round 2 to risk big. Plus if you **** up in Round 2, you have to rely on banked points, which will be low. Gambling big twice and winning even one of those gives you a solid chance of winning.

Gambling big is the way to win here.
