Oh, hey, it actually was in the last contest. Shows how much I paid attention to that one! I don't want to get into an argument about that Gears match, but I'll say having RE4 there didn't do it any favors. Not that it mattered in any significant way, I'm just sayin'. I never even thought about Gears / Paper Mario, I guess we'll see how that goes. Paper Mario, man. Maybe it will win, I guess it is and RPG and Mario. --- There are no foreign lands. Eh,
it's not unusual. Japan is where Mother 3 came out, not the greater
part of Asia -- and Japan is probably one of the smallest contributors
to the overall Asian vote total. Most other parts of Asia are heavily

Paper Mario or Paper Mario TTYD? Both got in. The original is facing Katamari Damacy and the sequel gets Gears of War. I have both Paper Marios going to Round 3 based completely on my undying love for them. --- And then the car wash cost five dollars. -No random encounters -Battle system that's more than just "mash Attack repeatedly" -Magic and skills that are actually useful -Storyline is both hilarious and touching -Awesome soundtrack -****ty inventory system that gives you more stuff than you could reasonably be expected to carry All comes together to create Mother 3. That's sounds about right. Mother 3 is decently challenging but you won't need grind for exp very much if at all. The fan translation was done by Tomato who is a professional translator so it's a high quality job. The game is a bit short, though. --- "Let me believe what you've always believed! I notice it's being updated every now and then with new brackets and new matches, but some things still need to be changed/added... --- It takes a genius to make something simple truly great. 3 is just really, really good game. I'm possibly the biggest DMC3 fan
on the board outside of Lopen and I still voted for Mother 3. --- DFF |

Mother 3 was a really good game. I wouldn't list it anywhere near my top games of all time, but I definitely enjoyed it. Really
doubt we'll get that many eliminations in round 1. Taking
Brawl/Melee/FFX splits the gurus into three major groups add in major
picks (GSC's performance, KH/KH2, North and Northeast picks), you're

So it looks like Mother 3 is slightly weaker than I thought it was. I had DMC3 pushing 74%, but I knew I should have went lower! This doesn't prove anything other than how weak action games (DMC/Ninja Gaiden/God of War) are on this site. --- Good Times, Great Memories |

Seriously,
of all the people to complain, why are Mother 3 fans complaining? You
can't even play the game without downloading a ROM and the patch, the
game was released in Japan only, and Lucas isn't even in the match
picture. At least with Deus Ex fans the game is bigger on other parts
of the internet, but you can't be a fan of Mother 3 without being aware

is still near doubling. And Mother 3 isnt a pushover by any means, old
school gamers know it and with super smash the game should get a large

Ocean 3, then. Halo just outdid that percentage on Ninja Gaiden. I
expect Prime to beat Halo in this contest, and I have no idea if DMC3
could beat Ninja Gaiden. I expect DMC3 to be at least a notch weaker

board has a few hardcore fans who prefer 3. It's not indicative of the
entire gaming population, of which way more have played 1 than 3. I
haven't played 3, but Dante also seems a lot cooler in the original.

I think you're entirely off base here. Most
people prefer DMC3 over DMC1 by a wide margin -- there are few people
who have played the games that would rank DMC1 ahead of the others.
DMC1 sold more, but we're talking about million sellers in both
instances, and DMC4 outsold them both. That's not a particularly good
argument, nor is being 'original,' because there are few instances

start getting real love until DMC3, and then that continued in DMC4.

I'm
just saying, don't be surprised when Prime has a doubling+ next round,
because that's what I'm expecting. This is an absolutely, positively,
unarguably egg of all eggs laid by DMC3. There is no spinning this,
Mother joke appeal or not. I'm not even sure if RB2 flubbed worse
relative to Oracle expectations than this game did. And I expect Prime

not sure where we're arguing against DMC3 losing big time to Prime,
because that will absolutely happen, but DMC1 would in all likelihood
fare that much worse. There's really nothing pointing to DMC1 being the
stronger game -- no polls, not the fanbase, not critical acclaim,
