This match has been over for a long time. Demon's Souls is not FFVII, and even if it did make up this deficit, it probably loses the morning vote anyway.

Only FFVII is near OoT, and then nothing's near FFVII.

RBY could hit at least 42-44%. It got 36.9% against OoT directly (with MGS and FFVIII), which incidentally is exactly what FFX got on it with Melee and RBY dragging OoT down.

Game is the clear #3 IMO.

Pretty sure MM9 is about as well known as DS, through projections and stuff the game probably wasn't too far off DS's sales when you add all three consoles. MM9 also holds the title of THE download game, it's nothing special, but what does DS have?

Also I think this is more it being a Mega Man game(and the best one in ages) than being THE downloadable game. I mean it has two competitors for that title-World of Goo and Braid. World of Goo did badly in the vote-in poll, not as bad as some utter bombs, but poorly. Braid proved itself as strong as World of Goo in 2008, they're basically even.

Yeah, downloadable games aren't worth much for strength here. Mega Man games on the other hand...

Again playership rates between the two games are pretty close, whether they liked it or not is questionable. Having the MM name didn't hurt either.

Braid proved itself as strong as World of Goo in 2008, they're basically even.

For what it's worth, that poll was before its PS3/PC-releases. I think it was still known as the most expensive XBLA-game at that time, too -- now it's normally priced.

Who knows what that's worth though. Still taking Braid to lose to MM9 pretty easily.

I guess the fact that it's downloadable means that they can obtain the game easier than the Mega Man games that were only released as a retail version. I remember one user from UK saying that Mega Man games can be found in the UK, but they aren't easy to find, nor do they receive any kind of promotion over there.

Analysis

If there’s one game/character that people have no idea how it has decent strength it is Okami/Amaterasu. Also so I don’t have to write it in future analyses Okami’s popularity is an exception to the rule, sure it’s possible for other titles to do the same thing, but expecting it is just setting yourself up for disappointment.

No More Heroes and Travis Touchdown have never looked impressive and even with the sequel released I don’t expect it to be much different. The main debate is how much will Okami win by. In the previous contest it was able to keep close with Halo 2 and finished with 35% against Metal Gear Solid 3. You could argue that the format helped it, but the format change didn’t exactly hurt Amaterasu’s performance earlier this year.

I feel that No More Heroes will be fodder, but not terrible fodder. Okami will likely break 60%, but No More Heroes won’t be crushed like some people are predicting.

I found ZX easily and that's about the only one. Never seen them get ads though or any special hype, though Mega Man 9 did get rave reviews in magazines and stuff for what it's worth.

Also I expect this next match will prove quite a shocker for the board. I'm surprised how quickly people are writing off No More Heroes-I picked Okami but...
