Halo
3 won with 52%. Well, I have Halo 1 winning next round, so it's only
one point. And Halo 3 was the big favorite in this topic, despite SMS
being the big favorite in the Guru.....haven't seen that happen in a

No chance against Fallout 3. It could beat Uncharted 2 though, especially as that's a day match. And if Halo somehow does the impossible and beats Fallout 3, it'll probably beat MP/HL2 also. In that case, I can't wait to see the Nintendo fanbase channel their apoplectic rage into MASSIVE NUMBERS OF VOTES as Melee crushes Halo into the ground. --- Nominate Crono so he can get a higher seed and avoid being fed to Clinkeroth early in the contest. |

Oh
man, the RAGE at Halo making the semifinals will probably be enough to
fuel another 5 years of Link victories. I mean, Link winning is pretty
commonplace, Halo making the semifinals would be just.......wow. A
Nintendo fanboy could easily still be angry at the site even after 5

doubt DMC3 comes close to 90% anywhere. Some people might think Mother

Super Mario Sunshine suddenly looks decent. Halo is really beating Ninja Gaiden more than expected, I think. Who's the favorite to win this half of the division now? Halo? Since Halo 3 doesn't look like it has the greatest shot in Round 3 (it looks stronger than Street Fighter IV, at least; I would certainly take SMS over Sonic Adventure 2).... IF it beats Halo; it didn't beat Mario Sunshine by a very large margin. Then again, the other contenders didn't get the greatest scores, either. (57% on Legend of Dragoon; granted, in a day match it would be more like 60% or so) Also, keep in mind that Halo 3 seemed to be at about the same level as Halo.... 18 months ago. Halo 3 was very new at the time. I would imagine Halo 3 has fallen in popularity since then. --- "Ah, a party! We haven't had one of those. So...what is a party?" DMC3
will probably exceed 75%, but it'd have to face something very weak,
that game being Mother 3. Not 90%, though! Mother has some name
recognition due to the large popularity of Smash Bros. I'm trying to remember what game it was that got way more votes than copies it sold in the US... was it Panzer Dragoon Saga back in Sp2004? Yeah, that worked out real well for Lucas. I wonder how many Nintendo fans even know what "Mother" is. Lucas' contest match was shared with Kirby. His vote in match was shared with Falco and Wario and he managed to beat Jade Curtiss in that one. Lucas is always going to look really awful, but he hasn't really been given a chance to show how mow much he can really do while leeching nearly 100% off SSBB. --- "Let me believe what you've always believed! defintely isn't ever going to look good, but he might look less awful.
Mother 3 doesn't need to look good to break 10% against DMC3, either.
It justs need to not be really, really awful. Some SSBB exposure might

think the UC2/SF4 match is going to shine a lot more light on the third
round match against Halo. UC2, SF4, and Halo are all stronger during
the day, and that round 3 match is going to be a day match. The numbers
that the winner puts up in round 2 is going to determine who's stronger
in round 3. (Halo is probably going to have to deal with the "it's not
halo" vote, which can be dangerous, especially if it has to face SF4
and its rally power, but I feel that Halo probably has the best day
vote out of the three games, so until we see more match numbers, I say
it's still a toss-up) |

Personally,
I still think Uncharted 2/Halo CE is a debatable match. Though Halo is
looking quite impressive here and could very well defeat Uncharted, I
still think Uncharted has some points in its favor: 1) Halo's match is taking place during its ideal timeframe. Uncharted's did not. 2) Ninja Gaiden and The Legend of Dragoon appeared in the same vote-in poll, and Dragoon looked a lot better: http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=4048 3) Halo is most likely SFFing NG to some degree, while Uncharted didn't have that advantage. Uncharted does better during the day. Round 1 was a night match. Ergo, "ideal time frame." But as I said on the previous page, I think Halo has a better day vote than UC2, but we'll have to watch the round 2 matches for a better reading on the matchup. |

That's because we have good taste! ...And because LoD wasn't released in Europe until 7 months after it was released in America so the hype and any chance of loving the game had died away. Keep in mind the majority of the Europeans that vote during night matches will vote during day matches too (the changeover in the UK is 5pm, for mainland Europe it's 6, so still plenty of time for people to get votes in, the difference is just that Europe's votes matter less because there are far more American votes.
