~*Say What? Common Stats Topic Lingo Defined*~

SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote. This is the best example of SFF we've ever seen. However take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make perfect sense.

Extrapolated Standings - The mathematical "strength" of a contestant that's determined based on their performance relative to the rest of the field. This number is typically based on the contest entrant's loss, but adjustments are sometimes made. See above for a watered down explanation for how the stats are calculated.

Noble Nine - Link, Cloud, Solid Snake, Sephiroth, Mario, Crono, Sonic, Samus and Mega Man.

I still wouldn't put it past AC to somehow pull off the amazing upset on the off-chance WoW was a four-way wonder that would absolutely falter one-on-one...but we haven't seen that from other games, so WoW feels pretty safe.

I banked on SA2/SF4 (dammit) just so I could get 600 on the board...but I'll probably see if I can get a good streak going now. We'll see how I feel as we get closer to DS/MM9 and how no other nutty upsets happen until then.

This sig-space should be replaced by any number of GameFOX-sigs I made to support Epona from LoZ:OoT to make the next Character Battle.

this division has been hell, but I should be fine from Halo 1 down to Okami. The real bugger is going to be ToS vs. RE5. It's a night match which makes me want to take RE5 (like i did in my bracket), especially since I don't see ToS as having any rally power. But It's still making me extremely nervous.

The match was obvious. I just wish I knew that in advance. The -1s did worse than both the perfects and the -2s. That's likely due to the large number of Board 8 uses at -1 botching the match. We lose a fair number of 0 brackets on this match. I wonder how long the last 0 bracket will last.

17 people fell off the Top 50 today. One would think an increase for SMS in North America AND Europe would equate to a drop in Halo 3 votes, not a sudden spike...

Well I'm doing absolutely terrible in this contest so far. I had both Sonic Adventure 2 and Super Mario Sunshine winning more than one match (I've got SMS bowing out in the Division Finals augh). Here's hoping I do better as we get deeper in :(
