I only got half burned there.


If Halo loses this one I'll probably create some factor where Halo is unable to break 50% against opponents that have okay strength.

I was looking around for a website to potentially rally SA2... and I gotta say, the game deserves to lose. All the Sonic fans are ****ing worthless. "I went and voted for Street fighter, SA2 sucks, herpderp." Seriously, a fanbase that can't even back its own franchise deserves a boot to the face.

We have virtually no poll data on DMC3 (or any DMC game really).

But Mother 3 never got released in America. I'd be shocked if this game broke 20% against just about anything in the bracket.

Anyway, this has been swimming around in the back of my mind, so I might as well lay it out: I think Tales of Symphonia might be a serious threat to win its division.

Let's look at the results so far. Low votals all around. Cult stuff doing well. That's the kind of contest setting that's going to benefit ToS. Then you look at it's path...RE5 isn't stopping it. GoW in a night match might not be as bad as we though; with the decreased votals, a big surge from Symphonia in the beginning (and it will, GoW has never had a good board vote) could be all it needs to win. Then it faces HL2 in the day, and while HL2 is terrible in the day, it isn't good either, while ToS outright beat GoW in it. Then it meets Metroid Prime, and if it already beat HL2, Prime isn't going to stop it.

I don't know. The combination of low votals + the path seems like it could end up being a perfect storm. I wouldn't bet on it, but it's there.

No, it isn't. The consensus right now among the fanbase is that Hoenn is the best region and has the best starters. HG/SS reminded people that Johto is boring as ****, and a lot of the nostalgia has been shifted towards gen 3.

What makes cult fans less likely to leave GameFAQs?

We see it in multi-option polls because the vote is split, not because of the lower votes. So unless SBAllen decides to go 4-ways in the second division everyone is at equal footing. The lower vote totals will probably shift GameFAQs towards something, but we can't tell what that something is.
