Yeah, but we still know the score of this match.

So I don't really get the analogy. We know the score. We just don't know the final score because we haven't gotten there yet and neither team has established themselves as the superior team yet.

Well, in football there generally are no trends. Or in other words, the trend is just a straight line.

I guess the thing is we don't really care about the score per se. We care about the probability that our team/game wins. Call it the true score. In football, this is usually almost identical to the score at any time, because there are no trends. Not the case in contests.

Anyway yeah I didn't realize Fable was using the non US countries as such a crutch, so this is TF2's match to lose at this point.

Looking at the match updates, it looks like they're both varying pretty hard. Most of the big updates aren't just Fable having a boost but also TF2 dropping off.

There have been some pretty big updates for each side.

I'm not sure why you're being dumb about this. TF2 built up a 112 vote leads and Fable got rid of it in 2 updates. It's not a hard concept to understand. I didn't even say that TF2 hadn't made big spikes in the match, just that Fable had made more. But I guess you're too busying trying to make yourself seem smart to notice that.
