Yeah. Honestly, Ninja Gaiden and Uncharted 2 can't be that far apart. Uncharted 2 can probably beat any single Ninja Gaiden game, but it's not too far-fetched to say that Ninja Gaiden as a series is more established on this site compared to Uncharted 2, so it has an advantage in that regard....

Dragon Age might beat Uncharted 2, but it certainly wouldn't kill it. UC2 hasn't "dropped off" in popularity at all.

If anything, Uncharted 2 has boosted. More and more people are getting PS3s, and Uncharted 2 is always one of The PS3 games to get.

Yup, that's a horrendous poll for Ninja Gaiden. You're right when you say Ninja Gaiden blows. Yet, I'd still give it a fighting chance against Uncharted 2. Simply put, at least more people recognize/possibly played Ninja Gaiden games over Uncharted games and that might be enough to give Uncharted 2 a good fight.

Yeah if anything that poll makes Ninja Gaiden look worse. Barely beating a port and some add-on pack for a game everyone hates (Fable) is horrible.

Well, I've done horrendously in the other two Games Contests, so I don't blame anyone for not paying me any mind!

Yeah, Uncharted 2 is one of the must haves of the PS3. It isn't one of those that's just another good game in a long list. For quite a few people, it's the game. It helps that it's not a pure action game like DMC or NG -- one reason I would take it over both of them.

Doubt this -- Uncharted 1 and 2 both outsold NG1 and NG2. Those games have high acclaim, but they're not very accessible. Ninja Gaiden has a recognition, but that's more because of the fact its been around for over twenty years as opposed to everyone having played it. I wouldn't treat Uncharted as some unknown series. Between the US and Europe, it's sold 2.5 million copies.

Interestingly enough I made it in the top 10 out of the gurus despite not having 3/10 games in the top 10.

I would also assume that the board vote will have the lowest number of non-entries. This may be a bad omen for future contests (or just for this one).

The only game I didn't have was GoldenEye, which I don't think a lot of people had.

But I just followed the LOL X-Stats, except I switched Starcraft out for MGS1 and FFX for Wind Waker.

Worked out pretty good.

It is normal for about 2/3rds of the site to not care about the contests. It's been like this for every contest. Hell, it was like this for the 2002 contest:

I can bet you anything that we'd all would have been worse off if it wasn't for board 8. However since we now have that knowledge board 8 probably does mean a lot less now.

Hola! Finally looked at the bracket.

Initial thoughts -

- Halo 3 vs. SMS - the matchup of which game can possibly flop the most! Egads.

- OK, in the BOP for Northwest Division Round 3, *no one* is picking Oblivion? 33 picks for Wind Waker and 1 for AC2? How is Wind Waker the unanimous choice over Oblivion? My initial thought was that Oblivion should win here. I thought it was pretty well respected on this site.

- Also surprised at the FFX/RE4/GSC/MGS4 expectations, which I think is probably the most important "pack" of the contest. My initial thoughts were that it was a tossup between MGS4 and RE4, but FFX is an almost unanimous pick over RE4. After thinking about it I guess FFX over RE4 is probably the way to go, but I'm stunned at it being such a massive favorite, I would've expected more love for RE4. Also kinda surprised at GSC being a slight favorite over MGS4. I ended up going with FFX>MGS4, but I really have no idea how this pack will unfold.
