I've got SA2 winning it. I've got absolutely no faith in Uncharted 2 after the bomb Drake laid last year, especially given that most action game characters > their games

This isn't Gamespot's editing staff, it's a popularity vote. Uncharted 2 nearly getting GOTY is completely irrelevant.

I'd take Legend of Dragoon to beat SF4/SA2 and believe SF4 > SA2...so this SA2 > Uncharted 2 talk is a little mind-boggling to me. It was last year's runner-up for GotY, and 2009 wasn't THAT weak of a year. I can think of at least seven games from last year I'd take over SA2 without a lot of worry, and I frankly wouldn't be surprised if Dissidia could be an eighth.

I just can't buy Dreamcast-support and/or 3D-Sonic holding up at all on GameFAQs, but -- more to the point -- 2009's not done anything to really embarrass itself yet either. We saw CoD4 do well in BGE2 and MW2 probably won't be very far from it since it landed between RE4 and GTA:SA in the GotD-poll...and many of 2009's other top games weren't that far behind it. After Uncharted 2 got the runner-up for 2009 (though I think Batman was dicked out of it, barely) and the PS3 dominated the SotY-poll, it's hard to think it's suddenly going to suck so much.


I can't tell if it's 2009-underestimation or 3D-Sonic overestimation, but it's ugly either way.

It was a Dreamcast-game that wasn't well-received at the time and took another two years for its Gamecube-release under a different name, and that port also did pitifully here even for a port. I didn't call it an exclusive anyway, but I don't think it's that wrong to assume much of its strength would need to come from the Dreamcast-version. If you're counting on just Gamecube-support for it to pull through...I mean, I don't have to show that poll again.
