do realize that argument is moot. Console-only should DAMAGE votals if
anything, and what's to SFF HL2? There's no other Valve games. They

Ignoring
consoles, there's a reason Nintendo resists calling MP a First Person
Shooter in favor of a First Person Adventure. MP's quite different from

fail to see how your arguments have managed to push Half-Life >

1) You can't deny the Orange Box's immediate impact for Gordon: http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=2893 http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=2910 2) The Orange Box package has gotten considerably stronger since 2007. Gordon went from only winning 1-6 (1 being Phoenix) to suddenly becoming a respectable player here. Portal beat Bioshock about like the Orange Box beat Bioshock, and HL2's likely beating Portal. Portal and TF2 have each gotten two characters into the contest, too. Really,
what scares me about Fable is two words: Xbox RPG. I don't know which
word's going to win out when talking about Fable under the context that
we know it's already gonna be pretty weak. Does that really matter? The other two Xbox RPGs in the field, KOTOR and Morrowind, I'd both take to beat TF2. Kotor easily, and Morrowind in a nail biter. think it's a pretty decent match, Metroid Prime was comfortably ahead
of the original Half-Life, but HL2 has been fairly popular and The
Orange Box was released between that sci-fi shooter poll and now.
That's 1.5 million console sales and Valve has become a bit more
favorable among the masses, whereas I don't really see anything to
think the Metroid Prime base has increased. I think it has the makings

it seems to me that if you have HL2 getting to Metroid Prime, you should have it winning. Vice City already beat Prime. Vice City to beat Half-Life and take the division is a fairly funny idea, but i guess it's possible. --- xyzzy |

City lost to Metroid Prime in every poll they were in EXCEPT last
year's BGE and that's because Paper Mario was in the poll. If Paper
mario weren't there it easily would have gotten above VC, no matter how

Same with Prime. said this before the bracket was released, but I wanted to see Galaxy
go up against something we'd probably expect it to beat (say, Tales of
Symphonia), then something it could lose too but would get debated (say
Call of Duty 4 or FFIX), then something that would be a huge favourite.

I've
been going back and forth between Dead Rising and P4, myself. P4 is
more cult status, I think, but I never see much talk about Dead Rising
either. I almost feel like it's going to be a battle of which game
people have actually heard of. I'm hoping P4's cult status will rally
some votes. I don't see the other two games doing anything at all. |
