But the median age has gone up by less than 1 year per year, so we are getting new younger users. The really big difference I see with the age polls are the age polls for 4/18/2007 and 8/26/2009. 4/18/2007 - http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=2725 8/26/2009 - http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=3587 3/29/2010 - http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=3864 In 2007, 14-17 was the dominant age group. Even if all of the 14-17 voters in the 2007 poll were 17 years old at the time, they couldn't go from being 17 years old to 21 years old in just about 2 1/2 years, when the 8/26/2009 poll was ran. Something must have happened between 2007 and 2009 that significantly shifted the site demographic towards the older age groups. The 2007 poll happened prior to the 2007 character battle. The 2007 character battle generated a ton of site traffic due to the L-Block rallies and if those rallies attracted new users to the site, those users were probably in the older age groups. Here's a list of some of my picks that I think are upsets based on the BOP. What do people think of these matches? Sunshine over Halo (both of them) - I have like negative faith in Sunshine but I just cannot pick Halo in a debatable match Morrowind over WC3 - I'm back and forth on this one No Mercy over Fire Emblem Crisis Core over FF12 - seems like a very unpopular pick but I don't trust 12 Oblivion over Wind Waker --- Voluntarily devotion of sig to give props. Congrats andylt for the best contest season ever (#1 Oracle, #3 leaderboard). |

Sunshine over Halo (both of them) - I have like negative faith in Sunshine but I just cannot pick Halo in a debatable match No Mercy over Fire Emblem I have these two picks as well. (or 3 picks, rather) I think Mario is going to overperform. The polls I saw always gave it decent ratings (not fantastic, but decent), and I think a lot of people are overestimating Halo, especially due to the recent release of Reach. Course, I could be completely wrong, but that's why it's a toss-up match. Anyway, I have Sonic beating mario in the third match, so even if I'm wrong, I'm hoping to only lose a handful of points. |

Morrowind over WC3 - I'm back and forth on this one This is something I am also considering, but I just switched over to WC3. I may still consider switching back to Morrowind. Morrowind looks like a game that would have a better day vote than WC3 and this is a day match. This poll doesn't really encourage me to pick Morrowind: http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=1129 WC3 manages to triple Morrowind, but it's also a poll from early 2003 and I have a hard time trusting old polls like that. Morrowind's chances of winning here depend on if Oblivion had an impact on the earlier Elder Scrolls games by encouraging Oblivion players to check out the earlier games in the series. Since Oblivion is more popular than Morrowind. Core is beating XII, even being on the PSP and how well XII did
previous polls, the voters will rally for CC to pull off this hilarious

Isn't FFX/RE4 vs. GSC/MGS4 a 24 hour match? Both of those matches are in the quarterfinals. The semifinals is when we switch over to 24 hour matches. The 2 semifinal matches and the final match are all 24 hour matches. Polls 4069 to 4192 will be 12 hour matches. Went
with WW > MM for the division. GSC was impressive last games
contest, but far from another RBY. I don't think HG/SS will be a huge
factor now either, nor will BW since it won't be released here this
year. It's not RBY2, and I don't think it's going to be the RBY proxy
everyone expects it to be. As for WW > MM, both did similar against Melee and RBY respectively. WW was very likely SFFed (which could also hurt it against MM), though MM could've been LFFed both matches it was in (two other N64 games and RBY, two Pokemon games vs MGS). Both don't really have good reads. Definitely nothing I'm confident about, though. Any of those three games has a good chance of winning the division. I don't expect GSC to challenge MGS3/4 though. --- Wylvane RayDyn is a horrible user. |

Didn't MM have Young Link? Also I was thinking about the DMC games. About as bad as they got burned on R/B/Y vs. MM last year, if not worse. I'm proud to say I avoided that burn. It resulted in Soul's ironic creativename sig, too! I love the sig because even though I lost and it was made in jest, it actually came out being a fact. Does anyone think it's possible r/s/e is stronger than d/p/pl? RSE came out during when the hate was at its strongest and Nintendo's water fad while DPP came out during the recovery period. GSC
winning is not that crazy. MGS is roughly equal to FFX while if you
removed KH FFX would have been roughly equal to SSBM. That leaves SSBB

does it also beat Smash? If Brawl beats Melee, then yeah the bottom
half bracket winner probably wins the contest. But if it's Melee vs
