FFX
is ****ed unless Brawl beats Melee. Melee is a decent second place even
when dealing with 4 other Nintendo games (I'm counting RE4 based on
last year's trends, you don't come back during the day on Kingdom
Hearts unless you have a beastly day vote). The only thing this poll is making me think twice about is Majora's Mask against Pokemon. That match is not as obvious as last year makes it out to be. --- There's only one difference between heroes and madmen: It's whether they win or lose. |

Yeah,
I don't really get why everyone is so high on Melee after this poll.
This result is actually a little disappointing to me - casuals
definitely think that Melee/Brawl are the favorites in this sort of
bracket, so it would be overperforming here. --- DFF |

Huh,
it's the height of the weekend day vote, and Fallout 3 is still gaining
on Melee? I think it's probably got this one won then- and we have
further proof that trends in an expectations poll are different than
trends in a match. --- Crono > Sephiroth. 7 years of waiting, and perhaps many more to go. Remain steadfast. |

It's confirmed its spot as long as you ignore HL2/GoW/ToS/GTA3, sure. Don't get me wrong, FO3 looks great here and I've had it going to the Final Four anyway...but this isn't a huge game-changer here. It's surprising to see it leading RE4/MGS3, but we also saw them lose a lot of ground on LoZ:TP when they shared a poll last year, so I'm cautious about it meaning so much here. Also, again, feeling pretty good that GSC would be doing better here than LoZ:MM anyway -- with no consideration its supposed resistance to SFF/LFF -- so I don't get what people are nutting about over its performance. I've brought up my caution with RE4/MGS3, it's almost got 41% on SSBM half-way through the poll (where I think the distance between them will increase), and this is a LoZ-game in an expectations-poll. Fallout
is definitely one of the strongest games, but because of the LFF in
this poll, it doesn't really tell us anything about Fallout's strength.
It's already a safe pick to win the division, but again with LFF, we

Prime is also catching a lot of heat in today's poll, as it should
be...but it's like we don't want to see why it's suddenly so
disappointing: http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=3728 Remember when SMG was the laughing-stock? Now it's whipping MP's ass. There are two pretty big reasons here, I think: 1) SSBB was replaced by SSBM. If you thought LoZ:WW was SFF'd by SSBM or SMG was SFF'd by SSBB last year, I bet SSBM would crush MP worse than either of them. 2) Assuming LoZ:MM doesn't really favor MP or SMG, removing LoZ:WW and LoZ:TP is going to help SMG more than it helped MP. We know MP and SMG looked terrible last year anyway -- they were both in the running for the weakest 3D-Nintendo game, so I don't know how they're both 1-seeds now -- but there's a pretty good reason why MP's suddenly disappointing (again/moreso than SMG) here. bet when Fallout 3 is doubling Batman, people will still be like "Oh
batman just sucks, oh its just xbox sff, etc etc" instead of giving
credit where its due. I've noticed this with almost any Western game
that looks good. People are just too biased here towards anything that
comes from the great Nippon that they can't appreciate that Western

Metroid Prime isn't really disappointing here- everyone knows it won't win the contest, which is what the question is asking. Fallout 3 probably isn't an elite in a full games contest- it's probably in the low 40s against Brawl/Melee, which doesn't really qualify as elite to me......probably not quite a top 20 game. at people taking anything from this poll. Fallout 3 is the most
different game in the poll plus it has the advantage at being on the
top of the bracket (usually that spot is reserved for the favourite)
and New Vegas coming out in a couple of days. Then again FO3 doesn't need this poll to reach the final 4.
