FO3 does look great for the Final Four based off of this, but we aren't seeing HL2/GoW/ToS/GTA3 in today's poll and I don't think any of us would take it over MGS3 or RE4 anyway.

To humble Fallout 3 a little bit, it's the only PC game on the poll. It doesn't seem to share much fanbase with the other games. Still, it's beating RE4 and MGS3 pretty handily, which is still impressive.

I'll agree that SSBM is looking really good.... and therefore somewhat grim for FFX. But you never know what could happen still. I still gotta say Brawl > Melee, though! ....however, I'm not nearly that confident; I decided to take Melee > Brawl in one of my for-fun brackets.

Yeah, LoZ:OoT rocked the last contest, LoZ:TP won its 2004-2006 division, multiple LoZ-games have won GotY-polls here for at least their systems if not the whole thing, and this is the highest-seeded LoZ-game in the contest -- one that's insinuated to be a one-seed in the poll's name. It should be doing well by people's expectations here.

Doesn't mean it will though -- I'd take GSC to look even better in this poll if it took MP's place.

As much as I love Brawl, I just can't see it winning against Melee. This site seems to have fallen out of love with the Wii, if recent polls are any indication - and as such, I'm expecting both Brawl and Twilight Princess to fall a bit. Melee, on the other hand, clearly hasn't lost any steam at all, if this current poll is any indication.

With that many Nintendo games on there, I'm not surprised! Plus, I don't think any of us expect FO3 to get close to FFX/Smash for the win.

Fallout 3 did not cut Melee on the 12:30 AM update, but it did get a cut on the 12:35 AM update.

I've been feeling less and less confident in Melee beating FFX since the bracket came out, but I think I'll stick with Melee. It would feel so wrong for FFX to be the Square game that breaks through the victory drought that's lasted since 2005, when FFVII and CT haven't been able to do it.

Strong performance by Fallout 3. Just what I like to see!

Is Majora's Mask beating MGS3 a reason for me to be a bit relieved for picking MM over GSC? Yeah, MGS1 > MGS3 in all likelihood, but likely not that large a gap. It definitely looks like it'll be a close match, that's for sure, but I'm finally feeling a little confidence in MM in that match.

Now watch GSC ruin my bracket.

NClark128 is a horrible user.

I've got Brawl beating FFX in the final. I'm still banking on Brawl even though a lot of people seem to have a beef with it. I just think that the majority of the casuals will go for that one, even if the "hardcore' fans prefer Melee.

It does feel wrong. Just entertaining the idea has felt wrong to me. FFX might beat Brawl or another game that flukes the final, but I can't see it beating the biggest, most played Nintendo game of the decade. Melee is Nintendo's flagship game of the 2000s.

The only downside: this pretty much kills any chance of an awesome Batman > Fallout upset. That's good news for my bracket, but somehow, it's still disappointing!

I know FFX's best time hasn't hit yet by any means and tomorrow's Sunday, but how much ground are we expecting FFX to make here? Because it doesn't feel like FFX has gained any since the Power Hour and it's only got a lead of 128...

...if it can't do much overnight, SSBM still might win this.

The trends here already look a little weird. A big thing to note is that Melee has a higher percentage at 2:00 AM compared to 1:00 AM. FFX is lower at 2:00 AM than 1:00 AM, but I expect FFX to start rising again during this hour.

In general, the trends that we see for games/characters in a contest match tend to also hold true for a regular poll. I can't think of a situation where a specific game or character was in both a contest match and also a regular poll, but had very different trends between the 2 polls.

Even with the existence of bracket voting, not much can really be taken from this poll. It looks like a lot of casuals (?) have their faith in Fallout 3, which basically seals the deal versus Half-Life 2 (and why are there people taking Metroid Prime or especially Batman Arkham Aslyum to beat the 2008 WRPG?), and that...I dunno, Prime is looking bad? Don't care one bit about that.

BTW I ended up switching to Pokemon Emerald > Grand Theft Auto IV and Paper Mario 2 > Gears of War. Not exactly the best moments, but eh, with seeding advantage plus how often GTA and GoW have thrown bombs on us, it's probably fine. Still not betting on Sunshine > Halo 3. GTAIV must've taken a dive bomb or something since we last saw it. I mean, it's the most story-oriented game in the series, and yet the main character got doubled by a (relatively) old-school icon that this site doesn't really care about much, and with a seeding advantage to boot, making Niko and his game looking all the more worse.

Now watch GTAIV beat Super Mario Galaxy under my nose. Wouldn't even mind, at least not personally.

these polls are notorious for being wrong, but it's a nice performance from FO3. that said, HL2 would be rocking this poll too. it's just the perfect kind of game to go with all the Japanese crap.

I'm more interested in the Melee vs. FFX part. usually FFX dominates this because of the Nintendo overlap but not this year. Melee may even come back to win it.

MGS3 doing worse than MM doesn't mean anything here. everyone knows Zelda always wins.
