I thought the 90s would dominate harder. How many 2000-2009 games actually have a shot at: Ocarina FFVII Pokemon LttP Mario 64 Mario World Mario 3 Doubt FFX can manage a win against any of those. I thought the 90s would be dominating a bit worse too, although in
retrospect, while the 90s have most of our super strong games, the
early 90s also have tons of low fodder that is much rarer in the 00s. I
think the median game in the 00s is probably stronger, the 90s just

Embarrassing picks.....I picked Magus > Mario in 2007. I think my justification was: 1. 4-ways will help hardcore fanbases like CT's. 2. Fox will split Nintendo votes with Mario. 3. There is no overlap at all between FFVII and CT, so Sephiroth won't hurt Magus, at all. 4. Bias, lots of it. --- Crono > Sephiroth. 7 years of waiting, and perhaps many more to go. I think you mean Eddie Riggs > Ratchet Axel Steel > Midna was a bad pick by someone else! The Games Contest in 2004 was my first contest that I predicted, so I had some pretty awful ones. Tetris > LoZ (Everyone has played Tetris and loves it, right?) Sonic 2 > Mario World (There are multiple Mario games and only 1 Sonic game, so people will vote to keep the one Sonic game, right?) Super Mario RPG > SFII (It's an RPG starring Mario made by Square, and it's awes--oh wait, that one was right!) I'm also notorious for bad picks involving Sonic, for whatever the reason. Sonic 2 > Mario World Sonic > Samus (2004) Sonic > Mega Man, although I almost had that one Sonic > Smash Bros. in the Series Contest Sonic winning the Male Bracket Although I've actually been pretty decent at picking Sonic since then. --- "Stay with me until the end. Looking back I've been pretty good at predicting Kefka. The only match I got wrong involving him was Pac-Man > Kefka. I got both of Jill's 27 vote losses wrong. And Jill/Ryu Hayabusa may have cost me a contest victory. After 30 correct matches to open the contest, I lost the perfect on a 27-vote match- and simultaneously was eliminated from the Guru to boot. I had MKII > Sonic 2 last Games Contest, although I still got half points on that! People
overestimated the effect of LFF a lot in the last games contest. It's
really hard for LFF to swing a match more than around 56-44, and LFF
situations are not equal- what you need is small, insular, fanbases to
even get that much (i.e. not Mario 3 and Mario World). What causes the

don't see any reason Sunshine can't win that match if it gets there
because I don't think UC2 will be that much stronger than Halo 1 or 3.

Uncharted 2 did fine for itself in the GOTY polls, although that doesn't always translate to contest success. Regardless, the North Division is Fallout 3 and then everybody else, at least to me. Fallout
3 should be able to sweep it, without anything getting more than 45% on
it. Fallout 3 I believe is the strongest Western made game here. Its

UC2 would need to really flop not to win two matches (or Sonic Adventure 2 to be a great deal stronger than SFIV), and it will probably need to really
impress to beat the stronger of Halo/Halo 3/SMS, so I think it's very
likely it gets to round three and bows out. If MW2 is actually close to
