Going back to RSE/GTAIV I'm surprised that RSE is the overwhelming favourite, you have to believe pokemon has shot up and GTAIV is weaker now than it was in 2k9.

I wouldn't count on the Gamecube-port meaning much either -- I'd prefer SF4's recency and SSF4-upgrade to help as much or more than that. You've been been against SMS doing well in the contest, too...don't forget SMS easily doubled SA2:B despite so much SFF/LFF though.

It's a mirror-match in a lot of ways though, sure.

1. Ports never do well
2. Sunshine would beat both of these games, despite how weak it may be
3. That poll was from 2002 anyway
4. Prime getting 45%+ and everyone else getting less than 10% doesn't really speak a lot for the accuracy of that poll

It doesn't matter. Pokemon DPP would have struggle to win or may have even lost that match last year. Pokemon RSE doesn't compare to DPP.

Of course a lot has changed over the year, but RSE should not be that overwhelming of a favourite.

Valid point on ports and SMS...but 2002 or not, the site's only moved further away from Sonic and his 3D-transition since then. The Dreamcast died soon-after, Sonic's Mega Collection probably sold better and was probably received better, and how many forgettable/mockable Sonic-games have come out since then? The site's much less pro-Sonic than it used to be, and the only real thing people have behind it is name recognition...which leads me back to that poll you don't like.

The site is less pro-Sonic (the character) due to the endless parade of ass-tastic games Sega has put out. SA2 is pretty much agreed to be the last half-way decent game before the series fell off into the abyss.

Before I get to my questions; SA2 vs. SF4. I initially picked SF4 due primarily to preference but then I remembered hat it's fighting game on GameFAQs which is even with Persona 4 (weaker than P3 imo. Want Nocturne in a poll:( ). Seems like a done deal. And there's a core of fans who like the SA games. They WERE the last decent Sonic games, after all. Also, Sonic Episode 1, fwiw.

K. I would ask about SMS vs. Haloz but that seems like a hot button. I'm just going to point out that Halo (sans gamefuel) always does worse than expected. Just sayin'

Ok, question 1, DMC3. How well does this do on GF? If I remember correctly, it had a decent community here back in the day. And Metroid Prime is hella weak.... (Oh and *grumble grumble New DMC grumble grumble*)
Also, just any thoughts about DMC in general.

2) ToS / God of War rematch. That is all.

3) I don't know what to think about KH vs. TP. My question is what effect do you think TP will get from being a proxy OoT.

4) Speaking of proxies, Crisis Core. It has ff7 in the title. It has the Buster Sword. It may get Sephiroth pics. It has ZackFAQs. How crazy am I for CC>Portal/Mass Effect? I mean, Buster Sword: The Game is at least a mid-cardder. But God, is the PSP hella weak....

TP looked a little ahead of KH/2 last games contest, but it was pretty close (like 52/48 or so, depending on what matches you use). Both Zelda and KH looked bad in the last character battle, so that's a push, and TP remains the favorite. I don't think being a proxy OOT will help because anyone who loves Zelda enough to vote for TP as a proxy OOT would probably already have voted for TP anyway.

Probably not happening, though it's hard to say with no contest data on CC. It did poorly in the 2008 GOTY polls, for what it's worth. I think most people here have FFXII beating it.

I believe it's listed as Gold/Silver/Cyrstal. And it should be pretty strong, probably the 4th most likely game to win the contest to most people.

Crystal will be a top 10 entry, but it has strong competition in the bottom of the bracket in MM and MGS4. There's no way it will even threaten the top 5 (FFX/Brawl/Melee/TP/RE4)

Hey, he used my idea. I suggested the idea to him about giving out Karma Bonuses as an incentive for users outside the US or Canada to fill out a bracket.

Mario just isn't a big thing for kids these days, I think. Galaxy was more of a hardcore title than something that resonated with millions of people.
