Yes
because two games from opposite sides of the bracket is the same as two
games from the same division. Half-Life 2 is depended on Twilight
Princess while God of War is depended on Oblivion. Any LFF that those
two games experienced were pretty minimal, heck you could argue that

It doesn't matter. The 2009 Games Contest stats are a jumbled mess, and we all know why that is. The degree of seperation between the two games isn't that great and if it's a jumbled mess then why bother to bring up defeated FFXII/lost to ToS. I'm
doing my writeup for HL2/Fallout 3 right now in the other topic, and
HL2 in no way should be the favorite. Fallout 3 looked a clear step
ahead last year - you need to factor in some intangibles and prayers if

Portal
got 44.8% against Fallout 3 last contest. Half-Life 2 isn't that much
stronger than Portal, and New Vegas > trickle-down Valve strength. --- DFF |

Theres
absolutely no reason for HL2 to be the favorite. Half Life 2 struggled
to beat FINAL FANTASY XII last contest, while Fallout 3 demolished
CoD4. I'd take CoD4 to be able equal to Half Life 2, myself. Maybe a
tiny bit weaker. It shouldn't be a question, really. Its gonna be a
55-45 match, especially since New Vegas will be big on the site during

The
kill streaks in MW2 are completely unbalanced, and definitely take away
from the game. Not to mention the rampant spawn camping and general
douchebaggery. The casuals will still flock to play it, but I'm willing

MW2 is
a GotY winner. Yes, I think Western shooters that appeal to different
gamers than those who frequent GameFAQs may get hit with anti-voting,
but not enough to lose to PSP games. Not when they've freakin' won Game

Why would Gamefaqs be good at FPS when they prefer jrpgs and Nintendo games? GameFAQs overall prefers Nintendo and JRPGS but that doesn't mean there aren't a lot of FPS fans here as well. They just get outnumbered by the other fanbases. beat me to bringing up 2009's GotY again. This was nine months ago
andMW2 nearly quadrupled it. Taking Dissidia to win despite us bringing
this up time and time again will only make me laugh harder...and taking

wouldn't pick FFXII over KHII anymore either. FFXII is one of those
games that just came out two months before that poll was run, and
people were still high about it. Over time, people have realized,
"Well, this game wasn't as great as we thought," and it's lost some
favor. Okami's one of those games that's gained favor over time. Okami still lost pretty easily to Halo 2 and WoW though, so FFXII could probably get somewhat close to 60% there. --- "The great GF...Bahamut." "...GF? I...? Using my powers...It is you humans...I fear..." |

gets 44% on ToS (through the same opponent with no LFF involved in the
matches), and I'm not even sure if FF12>ToS, so I doubt it goes that

IPs in general take a while to gain traction. Okami getting stronger

Forgot to give a counter-example of why stats might matter as well, sorry: http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=3471 http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=3493 Fallout 3 smokes WoW 1v1, Portal probably beats Halo 2. Not sure on Okami vs Halo 3 but it doesn't matter. It's hard comparing those two polls and then giving MGS3 an advantage.
