Why did it go that way then? Because despite what the board said at the time FFTA was actually liked. Heck FFT went from being even against MGS to losing rather easily. Most
people on this board seem to be hyping Galaxy and Metroid Prime. Only

Is
there much reason to believe we have any concrete evidence on Golden
Sun ANYWHERE? I'd say the favorite series poll is the best recent
indicator you'll find, and it's comparable to Fire Emblem. and
Earthbound. I don't know what date that poll was but I think it was

Golden
Sun's strength is totally fabricated and if you think it's gonna be
strong might as well say MM9 is gonna be a total powerhouse. Like seriously ToS at least defines a fairly popular franchise round here! --- Uguu~ |

My problem is that Golden Sun doesn't have to be >=ToS. It can be equal, or weaker, and still easily beat San Andreas. And why are you guys bringing up the series poll. It's not hard to understand why something with 2 games in it would do poorly in a series poll. --- DFF |

It was called Final Fantasy XIV in the first poll. In that one it was called Final Fantasy XIV Online. Nah, I think I'll go with Golden Sun 3 = Civilization V in terms of hype. In a hype poll you take brand name to mean everything but in a contest match, You'd easily take Golden Sun over Galaxy. I'm just not seeing any consistency with this. --- *is Dranze* Dr. Football swept me. |

everyone votes like that, obviously. A decent number of people are
going to realize that it's an online game and vote for the other stuff.
And a decent number of people who didn't know that yet are going to go

If the Golden Sun brand name is that strong based off of two games Which it isn't since... you know, that series poll and all. , and mostly the original, then I'm feeling pretty good about it. But here's the thing: the only reason the hype poll looks good to you is because it beat Metroid and Mario games.. but you don't even respect their original counterparts. Why do you respect their sequels in a hype poll? It just sounds backwards. Because
in those kinds of polls, brand names always do well. Doesn't matter if
it was a sequel to a weak game or whatever. The fact that Golden Sun
was able to do that well despite being around very high profile brand
