There isn't much logic that goes into a match like that here, but Dead Rising isn't popular, and it's not this site's type of game. TWEWY probably won't do that badly.

But that entire fourpack is a mess.

Demon's Soul's looked like crap in a forum you'd expect cult games to shine in (GotY polls). Mega Man 9 looked like crap because it wasn't GotY material for most people (unless you're a hardcore MM fan), but the recognizability and unknownness of the competition means it will beat the utter piss out of Demon's Souls.

Also, yay for GameFOX update. You take QuickPost for granted until someone ****s up with the layout over and over again.

Dead Rising isn't popular, and it's not this site's type of game. TWEWY probably won't do that badly.

Yes it is. It's current sequel is second on the 360/PS3 message boards. Was TWEWY ever even top five for DS on this site? Not saying that says it all, but still.. TWEWY is niche game, a lot of people haven't even heard of it whereas Dead Rising is big among casuals.

I definitely think Dead Rising 2 has made the series much more popular here than in the past. What was essentially a paid demo ended up getting over 500,000 downloads.

Almost ANY game can reach the top of the message boards when it's first released, hell, Persona 4 was #1 of the PS2 boards for months after it was released.
Does that mean that it's an auto-win for both matches?
And yes, I'm pretty sure that TWEWY was top 5 on the DS boards when it was first released.

FE7 always seemed like the most popular to me too. I had FE there but I don't know. no one has been able to quantify No Mercy for me in any other way than 'YO MAN IT'S WWF I LOVE IT'

FE7 may have special place in the hearts of the fans for being the first to come to NA, but PoR pretty much gave the fans what they wanted. There's a reason why Ike was chosen as a representative of the series for Brawl.

These are terrible ways to judge, but No Mercy's prequel did show major hope...eleven years ago. I imagine many people voted for WWE's option in the THQ-poll as a proxy for the WCW/WWF-games on the N64...but it's unproven, it didn't win by much, and THQ's company-poll had a terrible turn-out for votes. Wrestling fans will probably unite behind it...but in a battle of weak games on a Nintendo-heavy website, FE doesn't look bad either.

I have to take WWF No Mercy; it's one of my favorite games of all time and comes from GameFAQs's golden age. If FE can beat THQ's pride and joy though, then you could probably argue any series Nintendo ever made would beat THQ's wrestling-series here. I'm not ready to say that about the likes of Animal Crossing or Pikmin, yet.

Then again, I've currently got FE:PoR > THPS2. I don't think wrestling going to be treated as "sporty" so much as a fighting game though, plus it was a huge multi-player blast on a big multi-player system and has an iconic status within its group of people...that's better than THPS2 or FE can say, at least. It's going to be an ugly battle between weaklings either way.
