If you look closely, Fallout 3 was misrepresented last year and beyond. It shared every poll with shooters. In fact the only poll it DIDN'T share with shooters was this one: http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=3364 I don't see HL2 pulling that off. It's hilarious if Fallout ****in 3 makes the semifinals, but it looks like it could happen. Prime was probably held back a few percents by Paper Mario last year. A few percents still barely beats Vice City and gets creamed by KH. If Prime was hurt by Paper Mario as much as Cloud was hurt by Sephiroth, it turns around the loss to Vice City into a 54-46 win, and still loses 58-42 to Kingdom Hearts. So, realistically, Prime/VC is probably quite close; I'd give the edge to Prime. --- Crono > Sephiroth. 7 years of waiting, and perhaps many more to go. Remain steadfast. |

New
Vegas should keep people coming for the next couple of months, though.
I doubt anything will really usurp it from the Top FAQs for the next
couple of months since the only big games coming out during the contest
are, what, Rock Band 3 and the new CoD game? --- Wylvane ctesjbuvf is a horrible user. |

Marvel
vs. Capcom 2... how are its chances against NSMB Wii? I see both of
these being low-tier... currently I have MvC2, but I have a feeling it
will be horrendous. See SFIV, for instance. I can't believe how poor
its showing was, not only in the BGE, but also in the GotY poll. Do you
think MvC has some major advantages over SFIV? Then again, the sheer concept of MvC2 should keep it afloat against what is probably the weakest traditional Mario game we've seen in a contest. don't think MvC2's chances are very good. NSMBW won't be that good

Sunshine really wasn't that
bad once you got past the first 10 shines, which were all about
cleaning. The rest of the game had rather little to do with cleaning,

Lots
of people seem big on taking SMS to win its four-pack, and it's not
like I blame any of you -- Halo's embarrassed itself time and time
again, so this would be right on-par for the series. THAT SAID: 1) Super Mario Sunshine was also legitimately hated. Loved classic series or not and facing Halo or not, it is the absolute most hated mainline game of the series on Nintendo's least popular console...and its appreciation doesn't seem to have grown much like LoZ:WW or LoZ:MM (got a one-seed?!). Heck, people hated it so much they still point fingers at it for Mario's stock dropping and the SMG-games not getting the fan-love they deserve. 2) Talking about stock dropping, have you seen how people are treating Nintendo lately? Not a pretty sight. This might just be a Wii-thing, but it can't be seen as favorable. 3) Super Mario Galaxy would have had a difficult battle with CoD4 in both 2007's GotY if it wasn't for Halo 3 and 2009's BGE2 if it wasn't for Pokemon DP/SSBB. Halo 3 isn't much behind CoD4 indirectly whereas SMS's nothing close to SMG's appreciation. 4) Halo Reach recently came out and Halo 3/SMS is early in the contest. We've seen a major Halo-release push MC up to nearly Solid Snake's level, so -- while I'm not calling its reception/hype to Halo 3's and Halo 3 isn't Reach -- it's not going to be powerless either. Talking about stock dropping, have you seen how people are treating
Nintendo lately? Not a pretty sight. This might just be a Wii-thing,
but it can't be seen as favorable. If you look at the GOTD poll in Jan. 2008 and Jan. 2010, the Wii games absolutely collapsed while the Gamecube games actually basically stayed constant. Actually, MP and WW gained percentage from 2008 to 2010- from 10.82% to 11.61%, despite the latter poll having 3 additional games including Brawl. And what a collapse it was for the Wii games- Brawl, TP, and Galaxy combined scored 23.65% in the 2010 poll, while just TP and Galaxy had scored 32.26% in the 2008 poll. That's a staggering 27% loss, even after Brawl, the strongest of all 3 of them, was added to the mix. MW2 and Chrono Cross were added to the poll, but they don't really mitigate that collapse much. --- Crono > Sephiroth. 7 years of waiting, and perhaps many more to go. Remain steadfast. |

I've
been replaying SMS too -- blue coins and cleaning are the biggest
offenders, as most may remember. It's also becoming heavier on
collecting red coins, which is never a good choice. That said, it's
never deserved all the hate it got, and my current playthrough's

Ignoring the GotY-poll where MP murdered everything, it didn't beat Animal Crossing by much. It didn't fair very well in the Mario-series when it was just about eight months old, and I bet it gets demolished now that several years have gone by and there are more 3D-Mario games. SMS never stood a chance with Nintendo-fans here when it first came out.
