Oh, Battlefront overtook MKDS for 2nd place, though I'm not sure how long ago that was. Those two games are WAY ahead of MKDS in the U.S., which really surprises me because the U.S. is usually where Nintendo overperforms. --- "The great GF...Bahamut." "...GF? I...? Surprised to see Galaxy got more nominations than Brawl. Happy to see that Melee got more nominations than Brawl. I'm seriously considering taking FFX or GSC to win the contest instead though, at this point. --- Crono > Sephiroth. 7 years of waiting, and perhaps many more to go. Remain steadfast. |

Galaxy 1 backlash. If Galaxy 1 was popular, Galaxy 2 would be a lot more anticipated. Backlash? Very few people hate SMG. know Galaxy isn't "hated," per se, but it's not as all-around beloved
despite its critical acclaim and how much this board loves it. But if Galaxy was THAT popular, Galaxy 2 would've been hyped despite the Wii apathy. And I don't think people hate Galaxy. People are just indifferent toward the Wii right now, which is not a good sign for anything on that console. I mean, it's a mainline Mario game. it's not as all-around beloved despite its critical acclaim and how much this board loves it. It is, to many people SMG is the symbol of the Wii (not including the Wii series). Galaxy
has so many noms because everyone feels obligated to nominate a Mario
game, and the only good ones that came out in the last 10 years are
NSMB and Galaxy. Melee getting more noms isn't surprising as this board seems to have a major hardon for the worst Smash game in the series for whatever reason, but given some of the other opinions on this board, it's not that surprising. --- http://i49.tinypic.com/2ry672r.jpg |

Well there is a reason why nobody expects SMG to win the contest, I also feel that the hate for the Wii hasn't reached Pokemon levels yet. Also Xenogears was still respected back in 2004 plus there could have been potential SFF against FFVII. Galaxy
is not hated, but a mainline Mario game in 2007 just isn't what a
mainline Mario game was in 1985-1996. The industry moved on from

It
moved on in 2002. Sunshine's FLUDD-pack and advertising largely did the
series' relevance in. As far as mainline-games go, you can't go ten
years from SM64 to SMG with nothing to show besides Sunshine and NSMB.
Mario's trying hard to come back with SMG, NSMBW, and SMG2...but in a

What
are the chances we get a bonus match with the winner against OOT/FFVII?
I doubt Bacon would do it this way, but if the winner is not a Nintendo
game, I'd like it to face OOT, and if the winner is, it should face
FFVII. Then we can have an OOT/FFVII bonus match for the title of #1

Battlefront II put to break the 300 vote barrier aww yeahhhhh Battlefront is going berserk with the ASV here. LoD reached a maximum lead of 665 on Battlefront, which was at 3:10 PM. Battlefront has the lead down to 258. I don't think Battlefront will complete the comeback, because it should slow down near the end of the poll. Also, Battlefront has a stronger ASV than MKDS. MKDS was at 12.88% and Battlefront was at 12.94% at the start of the ASV. Yeah, 2002 West Division had the worst seeding ever. Crash Bandicoot and Serious Sam as 2 and 3 seeds in a division with Mega Man, Samus Aran, Ryu, Ken, and Sephiroth.
