Regarding LoD, it was really hyped back in the day, commercials on MTV and everything. Still, it's an averagefest at best and it's really disappointing to me to see it in the lead.

I'll have to play the demo on Xbox Live Arcade one of these days. Not a big fan of Tower Defense games, but PopCap made ****ing Peggle, so that alone is worth giving PvZ a shot.

Jet Grind Radio, looks somewhat impressive here. It could potentially be horribad fodder, but it actually looks like normal run of the mill fodder instead.

Nocturne and Radiant Dawn actually look somewhat decent too, considering that they're being leeched/SFFd pretty badly.

Well Radiant Dawn does seem to be well liked among Wii owners.

If you assume MKDS '06 = MKDS '10, and God of War '06 = '09, then Legend of Dragoon should be able to hang with San Andreas/Tales of Symphonia/Oblivion well enough. >.>

Nocturne and Radiant Dawn actually look somewhat decent too, considering that they're being leeched/SFFd pretty badly.

I have a hard time seeing Nocturne being worth a damn. I love the game to death, but I didn't even bother nominating it because it is a lock to be horrible, horrible fodder. I'm not sure I would even take Nocturne > Shadow Hearts 2. So I think Nocturne actually being at 6% is more a sign of those other games being pretty damn weak too.

For what little evidence it is, this poll doesn't hurt my theory that older games will do well, especially Japanese ones (but I was mainly looking at things like Majora and FFIX). Here's a decade-old, non-Square jRPG that I'm not even sure I've ever heard of, and it's winning relatively easily. Maybe the competition is just that bad, but looking at this list right before we started voting, who would have actually expected this game to win?

Well if get only 3 days, but Bacon still takes 28 games then it has a chance.

Though if we only get 3 days and a smaller amount of games get in I do feel bad for games like AC, DMC and MKDS since they could have done something, but are stuck against 1-2 seeds. Maybe Halo 2/3 will get a 2 seed.

Galaxy is definitely going to be stronger. Possibly much stronger than before. Altair comes to mind here, as a character who intuitively 'boosted' with time and the release of a sequel in which he wasn't really present. Now, games =/= characters, but games boost and deboost too. Why couldn't this be the case with galaxy as it fades into the mist of time, gaining more and more nostalgia as it goes?

Anyone else find it odd that he only listed 4 entrants instead of 8? I guess the 1 seeds aren't the ones that received the top noms, or he would have just done that instead.

Yeah, I can't imagine Galaxy loses in Round 1. Halo/Starcraft was the product of a ton of intangibles lining up in Starcraft's favor, the biggest probably being the flaws in the nomination process. Those aren't here this time, not like that at least.

Assuming those 4 are the 1 seeds, yeah, Galaxy is easily the weakest, but there's a huge difference between being the weakest 1 seed and being in danger of losing in Round 1. I could totally buy Galaxy being in trouble in Round 2 though, depending on what it runs into there.
