I don't think PS2 games really need PS3 remakes at this point. I mean, FFX already has pretty excellent graphics. Better to remake something like FFVII or Chrono Trigger in HD.

Agreed. 2D games (and remakes like HD Remix) look incredible in HD. No doubt in my mind that Nintendo will give many of their old games the HD treatment with their next console.

Yeah, FFX still beats both KH-games...but both of them are right around CT in strength and X2/12 aren't bringing much to the table, so this isn't such a surprise. Square's just not what it used to be anyway and KH's been there trying to pick up what the FF-series seems to be leaving behind as far as GameFAQs goes. Before this last contest, Sora was looking fantastic too.

I don't know what to think about KH's success in this contest based off of Sora last contest though; this poll suggests that was a fluke, but Sora took quite the dip too and is an actual match.

Oh man, I loved that design the moment I saw it and could not figure out why until now. If Yuri was remade into next-gen and had got the hell beat out of him that would be his picture.

And as far as Dante's new look goes, it's not bad at all, but people do not like it and there's no getting past that.

They don't look *that* much different, just the new pic shows him to be younger and that he ran into someone, or something, that absolutely messed him up.

But again, the damage is done and there's going back unless he gets redesigned. Shame that a slightly more realistic take on him gets shunned so hard, though!

Nah, this type of poll doesn't really interest me. There haven't been any interesting polls lately. I want to see some re-runs of past polls, and less original polls. Re-Runs of past polls also do better with vote totals than original polls. Since the last contest ended, original polls are averaging 72286 votes while re-runs are averaging 79723 votes (these averages are dropping with each passing day as vote totals continue to suck badly on regular polls).

Here is the monthly distribution of original polls and re-runs for this year:

April - 19 Original Polls, 11 Re-Runs
May - 20 Original Polls, 11 Re-Runs
June - 17 Original Polls, 13 Re-Runs
July - 10 Original Polls, 21 Re-Runs
August - 22 Original Polls, 9 Re-Runs
September - 12 Original Polls, 4 Re-Runs (so far this month, including today's poll)

I didn't count January or March because neither month was a full month of regular polls. At this rate, September is on track to have twice as many original polls compared to re-runs of past polls.

Don't think any Kingdom Hearts game can beat FFX, regardless of what today's poll says.

Yeah, this is the type of poll that you shouldn't rely on when making bracket predictions or trying to predict the result of a match between any of the games in this poll.

The polls I'm hoping will be re-run in the future include stuff like a "Which Final Fantasy title is your all-time favorite?" poll (which is long overdue to be re-run) and similar polls for other game franchises like Zelda and Super Mario.

I also want some other video game related polls to be re-run that would be relevant to the contests.

Nah, I don't want the "Got ___?", but it's a yearly thing we just have to deal with. Well, more like 2 or 3 times a year.

Well, that's somewhat expected -- there's no white hair, he's badly injured instead of posing, and it's a more realistic design. I'm not arguing about Joe Blow, though, because like I said the damage is done, but the venom that design has gotten kinda baffles me, but to each their own I suppose.

MVC3 and an actual DMC5 game boost might help Dante pick up a win over character with notable strength in a 1vs1 contest.

But no...., they have to reboot a fine series like Devil May Cry and make the iconic Dante look like a hideous guy.

Correct. It's almost half as many. Last contest had around 90000 nominations. This time around, the final nomination total should be around 54000.

I think "Same number of nominations" meant "same number of nomination slots". We're allowed to nominate 15 games, not 10. The decrease in nominations is probably because for a lot of people it's actually difficult to know what to nominate now that the classic FFVII/OoT/Mario/ games are out. I'm sure we'll still get a 128 game bracket (hopefully two matches per day).

1853 nominations... whoa. If there were 50,000 nominations, with 10 noms for each user on average, that means more than 1 in 3 nominated Link. That also means at least 1 in 3 are either blind Link fanboys, or they just don't get the concept of trying to nominate characters that aren't a shoo-in.
