People forget Tanner was the perfect storm. Uber fodder against the perfect opponent to skull **** him (Solid Snake). Yeah,
two 90+% performances in a row still hasn't been touched. How many 90+%
matches have we seen since then, anyway? Three maybe? I'm not gonna

That
reminds me; we NEED to get Tanner in next contest. He's got a new game
coming out, and when he crashes in the game he can teleport his mind

The only games that it would get benefits from facing would be an FPS, because any anti-votes that any JRPG would get are for reasons that Umineko suffers from even more (overly Japanese and overly linear). would take Fate/Stay Night to break 85% on Umineko before SFF. With SFF
Fate/Stay Night could seriously break LoZ's % on Adventure. The only thing that gives Umineko a chance at avoiding being worse than Tanner is getting the benefit of opponent's anti-votes. "Archer"
is a very awesome sounding name. "Umineko" will make people go "wtf is
this weaboo trash?" if the opponent is beloved. I doubt we see a 95-5
slaying this contest unless Bacon puts Comet Crashers in against MGS4

I'm
well aware we've seen Melee/FFX, but clearly FFX's inability to pull
100% on Umineko shows that FFX has fallen off a cliff and is vulnerable

can't see many people coming up with strong emotions of hate for
something they know nothing about other than it's name. They are voting
for "not Final Fantasy" so it's not like they care very much what the

And
a lot of Final Fantasy anti-votes comes from "Final Fantasy always
wins". Hate from those people wouldn't necessarily extend to Umineko

SSB's
stock has fallen a lot in the past 2 years, but it went up a huge
amount from 2004 to the height of Brawl hype too. Overall, Nintendo is
in a stronger position relative to Square now than in 2004, although

just wish FFX had gotten a fair shot at Melee or Brawl in the last
Games Contest, but the FFX/KH/Melee match gives me a faint hope that

of Nintendo's fall the past 2 years, the contrast between the Jan. 2008
Game of the Century poll and the Jan 2010 poll is striking: 2008: Square (FFX): 24.75% Nintendo (MP, WW, TP, SMG): 43.08% Others (GTA:SA, RE4): 32.17% 2010: Square (FFX, CC): 30.25% Nintendo (MP, WW, TP, SMG, Brawl): 35.33% Others: (GTA: SA, RE4, MW2): 34.5% Nintendo goes from 63.51% to 53.87% on Square by adding Brawl and Chrono Cross to the mix, plus 2 years of time. --- Crono > Sephiroth. 7 years of waiting, and perhaps many more to go. interestingly enough, the Gamecube games did about the same as they did
in 2008. The losses came basically entirely out of TP and SMG, which
lost so much percentage that even after Brawl was added, TP+SMG+Brawl

Those
are some really great observations, red sox. It hints to me that Wii is
now less popular than before, and even with games like SMG2 and Other M
out and with Skyward Sword announced, it may be too late to salvage
that system's reputation among gamers. I think most voters see it as an
empty well since early 2008. It's gotten little while the HD consoles
have given people plenty of hardcore games and superior multiplayer (an
area Nintendo had led for over a decade). I was weary of ever taking
Brawl to win the contest before, but I'm even less likely now. I wasn't
paying attention at the time, but it really should have looked more
impressive relative to the other Nintendo games, not just a blip ahead

The vast majority of the voters aren't going to know either so they'll both be working off their name and their match pic. If Umineko is lucky, it'll get one of the portrait pictures for a match pic. last year, a 3-seed, and Umineko was just voted Board 8's favorite game

hey, the disgaea fanbase is known to be hardcore what with laharl always getting in and prinny had his own game. Battler would make Prinny look like link, i mean only 2 boards in gamefaqs care about umineko, this one and the anime board and the anime board prolly doesn't know there's a contest since all they prolly do is visit their board without looking at the homepage. --- Hau hauu, omochi kaeri! |

actually LIKE umineko, played all of it, can't wait for ep 7, but like
seriously, if it counts as a game then i want to nominate all series of
