I can understand grouping the Pac-Man Ghosts together, but Team Rocket as an entry? So who's the favourite? Bowser should do well. One (1) Grand Prize that consists of: The Ultimate Home Gaming Setup: Sony 46" 3D HDTV Xbox 360 Playstation 3 Slim Nintendo Wii Two games for each console I wonder if we get to pick the games. Anyway here's a list of characters that were in our villain's contest, but not GameSpot's. Pyramid Head Sigma Nemesis Ultros Ramirez Ghaleon Liquid Snake Mithos Luca Blight Albedo Ridley Ansem CATS Sin Kuja Master Hand Also Diablo, Vergil, Mother Brain and Lavos are in the qualification poll. Only Lavos has a chance of not making it provided something huge doesn't happen. I can understand the RPG characters that didn't make it, but Pyramid Head, Sigma, Nemesis, Liquid Snake and Ridley should have all been considered. --- Calintares made a whole lot of geolocation x-stats Congrats to Dr. Football for winning the Guru. |

so we've dissed the Villain Contest for half a decade and only had one
so CJay would remove Clinkeroth, and GameSpot's hosting a villain

Hey,
at least they're trying. Including Vader, Joker, Shredder, and Dracula
is a big step in the right direction. Hopefully they've learned from
last time and run this contest better; it could still be fun, and their

I'm
all for them trying to salvage another Villain Contest however they
can. I still don't think it'll be a good idea for fictional characters
here, but we'll at least get a glimpse of whether or not they would do
well against other video game characters on a major gaming site. Really, I wouldn't be much opposed to the idea if you stick strictly to video game art and models of the characters, but I seem to draw hate out with that opinion. But adding villains in that should give us a good reason as to not wantign them in our contest. lost to Kratos and Mario might be able to beat Link on GameSpot. Given
how little we know about Vader and Joker, I say Bowser is the

right, actually. Why hope the contest flops? We're all here because of
video game popularity contests. GameFAQs is our home base and few are
going to argue GameSpot runs theirs better than GameFAQs does, but I'll
be mad if whoever Sephiroth faces in R1 ends up trying to ruin the

hope Vader does well, to encourage Bacon to have a fictional character
contest here. I'm still opposed to mixing them with VG characters
though. There's such a huge bench with non-VG characters that would be
wasted if only 10-20 made it in. I doubt people would start nominating
non-VG characters en masse, unless they were specifically instructed to. Should we even try sending Bacon a feedback about if this will delay our contest? Didn't he just lie last year and claim the last one wouldn't affect anything? I don't know what's so hard about just setting up a contest schedule in advance so people aren't being strung along for months at a time. --- "Ahem! if they manage to bring more hits to the site (I imagine something like
Vader/Mario would be huge for votals), he might at least give it more
consideration. The fact that GameSpot is doing it at all is a really

saw Thanatos and instantly voted for him. Then, a little later I
noticed Manfred von Karma and I wish I had looked through the character
list more carefully...oh, well. It's odd how. Ha, and I love how the Unbeatable Pterodactyl is on there! I didn't recognize it until I found out what game it was from. Also, it's cool to have Phantasy Star and Valkyrie Profile rep. It's too bad all these are losing so badly.... --- "Ah, a party! We haven't had one of those. It could be fun! So...what is a party?" Wasn't expecting a Namco poll. The four big series from last time are Soul Calibur, Tales of, Pac-Man and Tekken. Seems like Tekken has fallen based on the first five minutes, but that could be due to a bad start. Hahaha, holy ****, Tales is winning something. Soulcalibur has definitely lost a step. Hope this doesn't encourage more Tales characters in future contests. As for Gamespot's contest, our 2002 contest had quite a few flaws too, including some very controversial matches and all sorts of rallying. Gamespot seems to have figured out to shorten the rounds, and they should be better prepared in case 4chan interferes again. This contest should go more smoothly than the first one, 4chan or no. --- Wylvane PurpleMonkDish is a horrible user. |

take 4chan in that one. We've seen them make Bidoof lead Vincent here
for several hours and Little Mac push Cloud to the limit at GameSpot.
If they're serious about wrecking another contest, they can make Team
