poll actually floors me. I have no idea why 7 is doing so much better
than the other options. I would think that the distribution would be

Lucky number seven, anybody? I didn't realize it was world-wide, but it doesn't surprise me a bit it's dominating America. Another Pokemon game had already been announced since HG/SS just came out? Sure, throw that in there. Is MGS Rising the next big MGS-game or Peace Walker? I don't really know the difference between the two right now except one's for PSP and one's for PS3. I don't have a problem with Cataclysm there, though I don't expect it to do too well...though, then again, SF4 didn't and I've got SSF4 in there, so whatever. I thought Halo Reach already came out, but I confused it with Halo Wars...my bad. would put Peace Walker instead of Rising. Rising is more of a side game
featuring Raiden while Peace Walker is the game that Kojima is working

Maybe it's because I'm drunk, but this poll is very illuminating. I mean, it's obvious PS3 and 360 would do well, and DS has the new Pokemon games to help it, but still, DS and PC are very impressive for choices that are usually rather low in other polls. After noon is winning! woo Noon or later will blow that lead sooner or later, thanks to the wonders of extreme trend changes. It's currently building up a lead on the next closest option and I expect it to remain strong until around 5:00 AM or so. Fact or Fiction: Ulti doesn't like how FF12 and SotC are midcarders on GameFAQs, while Fire Emblem and Disgaea are fodder. Ngamer doesn't like how Perfect Dark is fodder while all Halos and GTAs are midcarders. The best game on a Nintendo console of the last decade is either Resident Evil 4, Super Mario Galaxy, or Zelda: Majora's Mask. |

isn't really relevant to our contest interests anymore, but I found a
neat old contest on GameFAQS from 2000, where you had to predict the
top 3 answers to a series of questions that you and the other contest
predictors would be asked. Just thought it would be kind of cool, since I've never seen it brought up before. Most of the stuff is things we've seen in POTDs, but iit is the closest (to my knowledge) that we've ever come to getting a favorite console poll: http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/c0010.html 1. Trend chart for yesterday's poll: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=te6dPBHP1rD_vNLqsiINjag For the hourly trends, "Before 5AM" does best from 5-6 AM, followed by "5:00-5:59 AM" doing best from 6-7 AM, then "6:00-6:59 AM" at 7-8 AM, "7:00-7:59 AM" during 8-9 AM, and "9:00-9:59 AM" during the 10-11 AM hour. 10:00-10:59 AM performed around the same in the late morning hours as it did in the early hours of the poll. 11:00-11:59 AM was slightly weaker in the morning compared to the early hours. "Noon or later" did best from 3-4 AM, with 4-5 AM being almost as good as 3-4 AM. "Noon or later" drops off 5 AM (like I predicted), then collapses completely after 6 AM. just had a random thought pop up. What do you think is the site's
strongest Western game aside from GoldenEye? So far I'm tempted to pick
Half-Life 2 since Gordon Freeman looked stronger than every western
character last contest except for Kratos and Game Fueled Commander

This is how you put OCD to hilarious use. I wouldn't really consider that "hilarious use". I have better things to do than to try and do a trend chart on every single poll. I only do trend charts on the following types of polls. 1. Polls in which I expect extreme trend changes. There are very few of these. 2. Doesn't feel like it! Some of the polls I've seen with extreme trend changes: What time do you normally wake up in the morning? What time do you normally go to bed at night? How old are you? Where are you browsing GameFAQs from right now? What is your name for those popular sugary carbonated beverages that you usually buy in a can or bottle? How much do you tip when you go out to eat at a restaurant? Are you fluent in any languages other than English? What country do you live in? What continent are you on (or closest to)? When do you usually answer the Poll of the Day? I think that probably covers most of them.
