I don't frequent that site so I'm not sure what they are like but unless you think Zynga's base strength is close to Valve, Zynga fans badly outrallied Valve fans. Zynga lost because their power in rallying wasn't enough to beat the natural gap in strength. In any case, ~10,000-20,000 rallied votes in a multi day poll isn't enough to leave much of a mark on our contest polls.

Also, considering Zynga made the semifinals of that contest, I don't see how it shows Farmville won't have strength. To me, that contest shows Farmville might get a joke rallied and has potential to be dangerous.

Yeah I have to agree on people's stance on Zynga. Farmville probably has a wide range in strength, but it would probably take quite a rally before it's defeating top 10 games.

Other than Blizzard > Nintendo, pretty solid contest. Two great companies made the finals. It's just a shame Bethesda got fed to Valve relatively early.

Still, a best gaming company contest is the one big contest we haven't done yet. Yeah, it'd be a Nintendo/Square-Enix final, and Valve wouldn't do nearly as well here as it would deserve to, but it could still be interesting for a one-shot. Kinda too soon for another Games contest, and the rest of the potential contests suck, besides Female Villains of course.

Bethesda values quantity over quality. Making a big world doesn't automatically make that world good. Not saying they're bad, I just disagree with that method of game design.

Joke Question: Would I be justified picking Batman: Arkham Asylum > Gears of War > Super Mario Galaxy on this site, just because that's the order they are in on Game Stooge's Best Games of the Decade list?

(we'll ignore the part where all three of them are supposed to beat Oblivion > RE4 > MGS4 > no FFX, SSBM, SSBB, KH, or KH2 on the list, plus that Deus Ex is supposed to beat all of the aforementioned games easily)

Though we've seen enough to definitely say it sucked, we never saw it without an excuse ever since the 2007-GotY-polls (which we can fairly say isn't representative of SMG here now). Pokemon DP, SSBB, and SSBB/LoZ:TP/LoZ:WW/MP were all in its way in every poll since its GotY-victory. It definitely beats Gears, though Batman: Arabian Abacus is a wildcard. with a good chance to beat SMG.

Still, I think I'm definetely picking Arkham Asylum over Mario Galaxy, just because. So then...Deus Ex > Diablo II > Halo 3 > PS2 GTAs > Baldur's Gate II > Civilization IV > The Sims > KOTOR > BioShock > Fallout 3 > Call of Duty 4 > Arkham Asylum > Majora's Mask > Portal > Mass Effect > Left 4 Dead > GTAIV > Gears of War > Uncharted 2 > Mario Galaxy > Okami > Oblivion > Perfect Dark > RE4 > MGS4 > very lol-worthy for our site.

Altair and Ezio are both more important than Prince when it comes to Ubisoft action characters, imo. They have a much higher ceiling.

Strange poll and not what I was expecting as far as results go. I figured the votes would be almost evenly split between the 10 options, meaning every option would be ranging from about 8% to 12%. 7 is blowing out the competition, probably due to Lucky Number Factor.

You know a poll that needs to be reran again? A "What big-name game are you most looking forward to?"-poll: Here's the potential for it:

Diablo 3
Final Fantasy VS XIII
Gears of War 3
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep
Metal Gear Solid Rising
Metroid: Other M
Portal 2
Sonic the Hedgehog 4
Starcraft 2
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Super Street Fighter 4
The Last Guardian
Zelda Wii (though this should really be held back until it gets a more official name)

It's hard to pick a clear-cut winner out of that group if you leave Zelda Wii out, and even if you put it in it'll have SMG2 and M:OM to deal with -- two other Nintendo games much closer to release and with much more information available -- so I don't think it would win in some blow-out like SSBB used to against SMG and MP3:C. At least, I don't think so until Zelda Wii gets a trailer and title.

Either way, if it's not in the poll, this could have some good battles for our hype and future money-love. Did I miss any other big releases?
