Joke characters and 4-ways getting owned. The site has spoken. It prefers Link and Cloud.

While "could use fewer joke characters" is doing well in second place, "needs more joke characters" is right behind it in third place. Hard to say whether the site dislikes joke characters when both joke character options are pretty close to each other and when "Terrible" is winning the poll.

Looking at Geolocation quickly, it seems South America enjoys Character Battles more than any other continent, and UK really hates them, probably because Link always wins. The 4-ways option is doing much worse in the U.S. relative to the rest of the world. Only Brazil, Germany, and the Netherlands like 4-ways less than the U.S. does right now.

Adjust Link/Cloud without all the rampant fraud performed by Link

Crono didn't get his night vote, so he may have won a 24-hour match. I was arguing that if Missingno's trends were even then he would've at least done better against Sephiroth.

Would we pick Gordon Freeman to beat Master Chief now? It seems very dicey, and I'd still pick Chief to win (remember pick Chief to win debatable matches against opponents whose ASVs are horrible).

Also in the earlier bracket...if Rikku beat Freeman it would be with like 53% at most. I'd pick such in a bracket, but it's 43% on Kirby when you have the advantage vs. 38% on Tifa when neither character really has a clear advantage. Wait, how did Freeman do with the ASV this year?

Gordon won it aginst Tifa and Peach. He's good with it now.

(remember pick Chief to win debatable matches against opponents whose ASVs are horrible).

Granted, he only lost 2% in the ASV against Sora in '06 from what I read on the Wiki, so I guess that shows that his ASV is not toal suckage. logic would suggest the other half of the day would go to Crono.

anyways, Missingno won't be strong anymore after this year, Jokes are only funny one time to people here, as L block showed. he will keep himself at midcarder to uppercarder level but that's about it.

Which would mean that this format is essentially bogus and that Missingno/Crono was not fair, therefore the Noble Nine is not broken yet. Clinkeroth is broken however, as struggling to stay above 47% against somebody who could only manage 55% on PIKACHU just two rounds prior isn't exactly good.

For what it's worth, I'm confident Crono wins in a rematch in rather easy fashion for some reason.

This has certainly been an interesting few months. I really enjoyed it, for the most part. Great format, some fun matches, and of course HOCKEY FACTOR, THE ZARD, and Missingno! I've never been so involved in the contest before, even though I've been following these things since the second one in 2003. I'll be hanging around to see a few ranking and rating topics finish. Gotta see SSBM_Guy rank the AA characters, Yesmar rank the contest matches, and Ulti give his Analysis.

Thanks for the memories, everyone. This was fun! Hopefully we can get Bacon do try something new/interesting later this year.

the Asia stats are unbelievably lopsided.

the top three are the only ones projected to even manage to avoid a doubling at the hands of Cloud, and we think Link is dominant when he always has at least two characters projected to get 45% on him.

Also, the order of Samus and Sephiroth on the Europe stats should be reversed
