what excludes Cloud Strife from being lumped into the "too strong for the normal bracket" group? The fact that he almost lost to Snake and Samus? Seriously before the contest people would have laughed at those %, Next year Samus will be stronger and Surely Mario would be too. Cloud isn't invincable. Link is for the SOLE reason Cloud is the only one who can get any decent % on him. Samus and MArio would never break more than 40% on Link in a 1v1 ever due to SFF. isn't beating Cloud by much more than Cloud beat Samus/Snake. Link's
win just seems tremendously more dominant because he starts off like a
bull and then tapers off. If Cloud started the match with 57% on
Samus/Snake and fell to 52% by the end of the day, I think more people

They're no longer showing off games that are still years away; both Mario Galaxy 2 and Other M will be released within about a year of their official unveiling. It seems almost impossible to think that Nintendo would reveal, hype, AND release Zelda Wii before the next Character Battle, but the rumors are that they're shooting for this holiday. needs to think their strategy better, pumping out highly anticipated
games from 2007 to mid 2008 then nothing for over a year and then

Nintendo
hasn't uttered a single peep about Zelda. Reggie has had at least one
lengthy interview where he said "wait until E3" verbatim, like a dozen
times. He's not trying to raise or lower expectations, but remaining
completely tight-lipped, which makes me think they're going to blow the

The
Gamecube was pretty good with Melee as its anchor. It had two great
Metroids, two great Zeldas (counting TP here), and an amazing Resident
Evil collection. Pikmin was a fantastic new series, as was Animal
Crossing. From a Nintendo fan's standpoint, it was just missing a Mario
game of SM64's quality. I still think the Wii can be salvaged,
especially if Galaxy 2, Other M, and Zelda Wii are all hits, but you've

Okay
maybe I went over a bit with the Gamecube sucked statement, but it
certainly wasn't as good as the PS2 was. And the Wii has been so much
worse that it amazes me how dominant Nintendo remains on this site.
They've completely alienated the fanbase that made them what they are
in my opinion. That is NOT cool. When the next gen systems were released, I would have NEVER predicted that I'd be sitting here a few years later with a PS3, a 360, and no Nintendo system. --- Dr Football may not have beaten the Dant-A-Meter, but he did win the Guru! |

Add Smash. They've stopped making those as well. The issue the Wii hgas is 3rd party, exactly the same as it was with the GC. But it has a completely different side AS WELL. Core fans, whine though they might aren't getting any less than they were last gen. --- They just don't like sharing. |

Uh...the
only reason Samus and Snake were even close to cloud was a) 12 hour
match, and then b) bandwagoning. That's the only reason you'll ever see
anyone come close to Cloud, and even with those things no one will ever
come close to Link, because the only characters that get bandwagoned
are Nintendo -- and those characters could never stand up to Link (I

I guess it's tough to expect OoT and SM64 quality with every Zelda and
Mario release... but I was so disappointed with Brawl that it makes me

Nintendo's DS is the best though, 3rd party support there is simply excellent, my favourite DS games aren't even from nintendo. --- Except pokemon. |

It is inferior to the other 3D Zeldas Still an awesome game, but this sort of thing happens when you're forced to cut a third of the game. Also, I'm just gonna say that while the Wii isn't the best console for 3rd party support, it does have way more 3rd party games than the Gamecube, and any Nintendo console since the SNES. At least there are quite a lot of games worth getting for it that are 3rd party. Though I think a lot of the whiners just don't bother to look in that area-how many Wii anti-fanboys have even heard of Little King's Story or Muramasa? --- Something something something ^Poorly disguised anti-caps sig |

The DS has been Nintendo's most successful system since the SNES.
