A = Strongest Character
B = Character Weaker than A

To figure out a character's Xsts Percentage ---> [(CvB)(BvA)]/50 = CvA
To compare how C would do against B ---> [(CvA)/(BvA)]*50 = CvB
To figure out how B would do against A ---> [(CvA)/(CvB)]*50 = BvA

~*Say What? Some Common Stat Topic Lingo Defined*~

SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote, because the Zelda fanbase so clearly sided with him. However, take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make total sense. This has caused a few SFF jokes, with LordOfDabu's "Some Frivolous Factor" being the funniest of them.

X-Stats - Short form of Extrapolated Statistics, aka the mathematical "strength" of a contestant that can be determined based on their performance in any given matchup. See above for a detailed explanation of the x-stat process.

Noble Nine - Link, Cloud, Solid Snake, Sephiroth, Mario, Crono, Sonic, Samus and Mega Man.

Near-Elite - The Squall, Auron, Vincent, Kirby, Missingno, Charizard, et al group that has come at, near or even ahead of Noble Nine characters recently.

The Fodder Line - A final X-Stat value of 15% or below.

Did you miss all of Albion's topics here the past couple months?

It's amazing how all he did was continuously make new topics about the latest FF13 review and people still took the bait.

Controversial scores for a highly anticipated game is instant responses, whether you try or not. It was golden even though I was anticipating the game myself!

...It all makes me wonder exactly what FFVII's strength will be like after the inevitable PS4-era FFVII remake comes out.

Before I used to think it was virtually guaranteed that Link would lose at least one more time in a GameFAQs contest, and that one time would be the year Cloud would finally get a huge boost from an FFVII remake.

...But with evidence that Cloud might be declining, by the time the remake comes out, it may only restore him to the kind of popularity he enjoyed around the 2K4-2K6 era.

also, someone in the other topic mentioned Mega Man fanboys. Really? I mean maybe they buy the same game over and over sometimes and lol cataclysm theory, but Mega Man fans generally aren't very loud.

Ah, you know it's funny, these people, they go to sleep. They think everything's fine, everything's good... They wake up the next day and they're on fire.

Both Snake's and Cloud's vote intakes are spiking up and down, or hovering steady for several updates followed by a big drop, that it's really difficult to see what's an outlier and what isn't, heh.

The problems here are twofold:

1: The vast majority here (myself included) are rooting for Snake,
and
2: The vast majority here know Snake is eventually going to lose, because these voting patterns just don't ultimately favor him.

To those in the know, the results really aren't in doubt. If the results aren't in doubt, there's no reason to strenuously debate what will happen.
While there's a very small possibility Snake bucks the trend, I really don't want to talk about it. I don't want to jinx him.

You'd be surprised, MWIS. Snake is stalling Cloud very very nicely even now that we're out of the power hour. The Total Domination Zone has yet to start, but if Snake is not folding now, he might yet do something later on.

Its a very good game! But arguably the weakest part of the Orange Box, and I would happily trade Portal 2 for HL2: Ep3.

I still think this is the weakest Link we've seen in a few years. He beat Luigi with 10% less than he beat Yoshi with in 2004, he didn't quite match his percentage on Mario from last year (not even the match where Mario was fighting for his life with Zack and ought to have done better), and he put up underwhelming performances against Thrall, Alucard, and X. The Sonic match was nice, but it below my pre-contest expectations and only looked amazing because of Link's underwhelming (for Link) performances up to that point.

Assuming Cloud ends at 52%, that's good enough that he has a shot of avoiding his worst defeat ever at the hands of Link (just under 54%, on the day TP came out).

I never bought into the notion that Snake had to surpass 60% on Cloud in the first hour to have a chance of winning -- that sounded quite silly to me, particularly since this a weekend so the day-vote and after-school swings won't be quite as substantive -- but I did think Snake needed about 54% on Cloud after the first hour to have a realistic shot.
He didn't quite make it.
