Only three of the last four, really.
Snake fans apparently scrambled during that last hour to prevent any possibility of an upset.

Hmm? First hour 58%, second hour 55%, third hour 53%, fourth hour 51% => Weighted Average at 4 AM > 55%.

Snake would also only have a lead of around 2600 votes unless you expect vote totals to blow through the roof

Which is why I believe Cloud has no chance if the match were to start off Red Sox's way. Heck I bet Snake fans got lazy at the end since it seemed like Snake was going to easily win.

Fun fact: only three characters are above 30% on Link in his half of the bracket - Mario, Charizard, and X (in that order). This despite the fact that there are three (four with X) other Noble Niners in Link's half. For comparison, there's seven characters above 30% on Cloud just in his quarter, with the one Noble Niner (Samus) above 45%.

There's some pretty heavy SFF on Link's side, but that just reinforces the fact that he's a monster.

I seem to be giving Snake more of a shot (1-5%) than the others here (0%). It does seem like he'll find himself in the finals with a bunch of momentum and with at least some upset-starved backers. It's an exceedingly unlikely shot, but even against Link, I think Snake has a chance.

I'd respect your perspective a bit more if I didn't strongly suspect that, in the event Cloud performs significantly better than expected and is winning, you'd come back and gloat about Snake's loss.

It was asked if Snake had a chance against Link if he got 54% here. My answer is yes. I think Link would only get around 55% on Cloud himself, and if Snake wins this his bandwagon will only grow. Think his chances of winning that big are really low though.

I wouldn't. I like Snake, but people here act hypocritical about him (such as hyping up this painfully obvious match, intentionally lowballing Snake even after he beat Sephiroth easily). If this was Link, it would be moans of "predictable" and "boring".
