Also, Bugs Bunny for the NN!

I almost listed him...

DBZ is way past it's prime. Those characters would've been much stronger years ago. Now they'd have faded. Goku would get crushed by any of the A-list comic book guys.

LOL, I know I said "In no particular order," but the beginning of my list kind of was in order. I wouldn't take him over them either, but I honestly don't think he's that weak. He still gets constant games, and the whole DBZ reboot series...idk. I think he's still pretty damn strong. I'd vote for him.

Not necessarily, Creative. It's had Kai recently, which has been pretty well received if kinda minor. A Cloud/Goku comparison actually fits really well when you think about it (heck, they've even got parallels with their villains and their likely strengths), since both had their big score a long time ago but would probably remain very strong afterwards anyway.

Hmm...Noble 9 for fictional characters...

Batman
(Link goes here, small margin afterwards a la Cloud-Link)
Darth Vader
Spiderman
(Clinkeroth-Mario sized gap here, possibly smaller)
Homer Simpson
Superman
Mickey Mouse
Goku
(2k4-2k5 Mario-Sonic/MM gap here)
Harry Potter
James Bond
Wolverine

Hmm...that seems about right, actually. Sure, it's got an extra member, but that's because anyone who could beat Link consistently is simply far far above the concept of Noble Nine.

Fry would be a midcarder if that. I mightn't take him to beat Peter Griffin, which says it all IMO.

Batman would Batarang Superman into oblivion. If we're discussing movies, I believe Batman movies have set opening-weekend records four times since the 1990s. How did that last Superman movie do again? If we're discussing video games, Batman: Arkham Asylum is bigger than any game Superman has...and hey, since this is a video game site, quick question: what Superman video game can you think of first?

Was it Superman 64? Be honest.

I've also never seen a documentary about the Superman comic-books. They may be out there, but I've seen 'em for Batman and I don't even actively follow Batman. Batman's a phenomenon with American men that Superman isn't touching, and that demographic is who votes the most in GameFAQs-polls.

I'm trying not to be elitist on an idea I'm not even big on (sorry, I prefer the focus on video games and this contest proved they are still plenty fun), but Superman would be broken by Batman. Joker likely beats him too.

No Captain Jack?

Jack would probably be a Near Elite, Auron style. Good, but I honestly would never take him over any of the characters I listed until he proved himself.

Hmm...actually, who would the equivalent of the Square near-elites? It's an interesting question.

Just for the record, how about everyone give us their "Noble Nine" of non-video game fictional characters!

The Little Tramp (Charlie Chaplin)
George Bluth, Sr.
Hank Hill
Vito Corleone
Sam Lowry
GOB Bluth
Sideshow Bob
Captain Jack Sparrow
Frylock

And of course, you'd have Cosmo Kramer, Dr. Frasier Crane, Sam Spade, Dr. Evil and Jay Sherman trying to break the Noble Nine every year! And people would constantly whine about how "ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT ALWAYS WINS"...

...okay, but seriously, I think it'd be something like this:

Darth Vader
Batman
Spider-Man
Homer Simpson
The Joker
Captain Jack Sparrow
James Bond
Goku
Dr. Gregory House

Big Brother is not a character. :-/

Drizzt would get fodderized. Books would be EASILY the weakest form of media, much as it pains me to admit it. Couple that with the "too cool for school" antivotes and he'd struggle to avoid a tripling IMO.

Holmes and Dracula would do very well, though. I'd put them way high overall, since they're extremely well known and liked. Poirot, not so much, though he'd probably be a nice midcarder.

And Picard...hmm. Doing a BOLD PREDICTION he'd be pretty weak and would get destroyed, but I'm not sure.

Most of the devoted scientologists are out of the age group that they would care, and the ones that are usually don't have easy access to computers.

Also, Anonymous would go to town on the poll

Beside, since the character would probably be from Battlefield Earth, their intrinsic strength would be close to zero

That'd be great, let them admit it's fictional. Same for any Christians voting for Jesus.
