get Europe is going to help Sonic out, but man. What an absolutely
underwhelming result for the poor guy. I hate to think of what would
happen if this were a day match! Also, nobody really answered me. Why all the hate for FF when it's just fine for nintendo stars like Mario, Link, Samus and Mega Man to run rampant at all times? But if a great FF characters wins a match it's like the world is going to end. I'm really not sure, honestly. I've always found it baffling - particularly when people complain about Kefka, Zidane, Terra, etc. winning. Since when do they always win?!? I wonder if this is
an underperformance and if Link would be, like, tripling Sonic under
"normal" circumstances. This is the guy who got 82% on Yoshi once upon

mean, I've learned to never say never in these things, but damn...it's
like the contest is already over, you know? Link needs to get 71.72% to impress me. I would take Ridley > Sonic don't get dizzy from all that spinning dude What does Charizard need to get on Mario to GUARANTEE in your mind it beats Sonic? 51%. Seriously though...need to see Link/Mario first, don't we? |

This
doesn't make any sense. Is Sonic really this weak? He's probably
gaming's third-biggest icon behind Mario and Link. Even if we ignore
the x-stats, this probably puts him barely in the top 15. Forgetting
any outside influence, that's a level of a fall from 2002 that makes
Crono's fall look like a tiny misstep. This means Sonic has fallen
almost as far as Magus for Pete's sake, and that's assuming that Magus's 2003 stats were completely legit. This makes no Effing sense! |

It's
weird how Sonic Team embarrassed itself in R1, then Sonic impressed and
regained respect the next three rounds, then ends his nice run with
what's probably the biggest loss a Noble Niner has ever suffered
(besides Missingno > Crono, but that's for an entirely different

It
makes plenty of sense. It's precisely how Sonic looked in 2008. It just
means Bacondorf sucks, and Kirby was overrated. Actually, there
probably is some SFF here (probably enough to make up for the fact that
Link would do even better in a day match, and then some on top of
that). Sonic comes out of this looking slightly better than his 2008

So, if this keeps up, and Cloud somehow beats Link...Captain Falcon>Sonic. This is magnificent. Hell, depending on how badly Link keeps beating Sonic, if Cloud just puts up a good fight....HAHAHAHA I LOVE THIS CONTEST. Any guesses on Link's final percentage? could totally see Link and Cloud essentially doubling the rest of the

Cloud
got over 66% on Sonic in 2003, so seeing the blue guy dismantled is not
without precedent, just never this badly. Sonic has had almost seven
years of more cruddy games since that Cloud loss, and Link SFF's him a
bit as well. I think we would have expected Link to come out swinging
for the high 60s were it not for the anti-blowout, anti-voting nature
of this contest, and that's what makes this result surprising. It's
like people decided to stop messing around for one day and produce the

Sonic's really not doing badly if you have 2008 Sonic in mind. I still think Cloud will break 45% at least in the final. Twilight Princess was considered a letdown by many. Link's won so many friggin' contests, and should be receiving more anti-votes. Since they were portable titles, I really doubt Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks helped much. There probably isn't going to be another console Zelda for a long while.
